I agree with this Bluthy. A couple of glitches but been pretty solid and one beautiful kick up the wing.Bluthy wrote:He's got penetration in his kicking. You've got to cut him some slack playing his first AFL game in defence against the reigning premiers on a windy ground.saint-stu wrote:Why does everyone say Lee's kicking is good?

Good to see Armo back in such good form.
Is probably having his best game for the year. Though his Port game was ok.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks @ Tassie
We are winning in every aspect. Unfortunately we are dominating the turnover department. We have gifted them half their score. So disapointing when they are busting a gut and running and tackling so hard. They've continued on from last week with effort which is great. At this stage.

We need Paddy (2) and Templeton (3) to lift and Hickey to actually take some marks around the ground (I thought that's why he was in front of the other ruckmen), Minch needs to get it more and so does Weller.

His kick to Hickey Minch was good as it was the best option.

And has been left to cover for Fisher's man, as Fisher has gone off to intercept & they go over his head and Lee is having to cope with two talls. Fisher has made a number of poor decisions today when leaving his man today, leaving Lee to mop up. Will be interesting to watch tonight on replay to pick them up more clearly.SemperFidelis wrote:Sort of CHB but has been up the wing and often up against Ceglar in the contestsroskilde wrote:What position is Tommy Lee playing in today? Would have an extra one of Geary had not been so dismal.Playon wrote:With only 3 possessions maybe he's telling him to get into the gameDarth Vader wrote:Why was Geary going off at Eli?Bluthy wrote:bloody geary unbelebable

Good to see us playing so well againsta quality team, and one that has ripped us to shreads in recent times.

Also as they were walking off at half time, Joey was giving Eli a serious talk to, with a fair bit of finger pointing. So Eli must have done something wrong with game plan.Playon wrote:With only 3 possessions maybe he's telling him to get into the gameDarth Vader wrote:Why was Geary going off at Eli?Bluthy wrote:bloody geary unbelebable

Eli isn't AFL standard.
Lee is slowly improving. Would make a big difference in the 2nd qtr if he holds his own in defence.
Paddy and Bruce are bullocking well giving Sinclair and Lonie chances

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks @ Tassie
just for the record Geary haters at half time he has had 10 disposals going at 100%, and yes one terrible blunder
so those of you going on about his disposal might want to nominate which one of those 10 was no good or go away

Hickey is the only Saints player not to take a mark. Just not good enough.Jacks Back wrote:We need Paddy (2) and Templeton (3) to lift and Hickey to actually take some marks around the ground (I thought that's why he was in front of the other ruckmen), Minch needs to get it more and so does Weller.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks @ Tassie
Put Eli on Mitchell. Hodge is down, Lewis is down, Burgyone is down. But Mitchell keeps pumping it out and setting up play. If we can stop him then we might be able to really get on top of them.

He usually handballs to a kicker but his defensive work has been great.terry smith rules wrote:just for the record Geary haters at half time he has had 10 disposals going at 100%, and yes one terrible blunder

Maybe somebody could resurrect one of the numerous "Geary" threads and leave the match thread to those of us watching the match.terry smith rules wrote:just for the record Geary haters at half time he has had 10 disposals going at 100%, and yes one terrible blunder
