Our greatest Trade?
What do you think our best trade has ever been? (not draft)
In recent years Schnides & Dempster was pretty good.
Also, St Kilda-West Coast, 2000 St Kilda received Fraser Gehrig; West Coast received pick No.18 (Daniel Kerr) and David Sierakowski.
Worked out well for both clubs!c

Re: Our greatest Trade?
Pick 24 (or thereabouts) for Dempster and Schneider.
Barry Hall to Sydney for pick 13, which we then used to draft Nick Dal Santo
But the best of all was Craig Davenport to Carlton for pick 21, which we then used to draft Barry Hall. Pissed myself laughing for years over that one

Didn't we get back pick 26 and drafted Spenna White with it?LTN16 wrote:Pick 12 for Tom Lee..
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Re: Our greatest Trade?
Nope. According to anyone in the media and it was a straight swap of pick 12 for Lee..saintspremiers wrote:Didn't we get back pick 26 and drafted Spenna White with it?LTN16 wrote:Pick 12 for Tom Lee..

So Davenport turned into Hall then in to Dal and what did we get for Dal?

Pick 25, which we bundled up with 41 to get Longer and 48, which we used to get Bruce. So in effect Dal Santo and 41 got us Bruce and Longer.Goose is king wrote: So Davenport turned into Hall then in to Dal and what did we get for Dal?
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
Re: Our greatest Trade?
Fraser G-Train Gehrig
Traded from West Coast for pick 18. Played 145 games, 390 goals. 2 coleman medals and 2nd in the BF 2001.

Re: Our greatest Trade?
Though both Gardiner and King were good pick ups for not too much
But yeah
Schnieder and Dempster for a second rounder Was hard to believe

Re: Our greatest Trade?
Mc Evoy for 2 picks (Dunstan & Acres) and Savage was truly inspired. Indirectly this lead to us bending over Brisbane for Longer.
We also got Michael Gardiner for just about nothing.
As already mentioned the Dempster/Schneider deal was good, as was the Bruce deal.

Fraser Gehrig was good, but I will go with Schneids and Dempster as our best.

Perry, Gram & Voss were handy pick ups, but I'd agree with G-Train.

Re: Our greatest Trade?
Right now I'd take a 25yo g-train over Dempster + Schneider at the age we got them (about 24).bigmicka wrote:

Re: Our greatest Trade?
24 or whatever it was for Schnads and Dempster is pretty hard to turn up. Especially Dempster. He has been ridiculous value.
But for mine it is Gehrig. Absolute beast.
