Brilliant. Look what Savage CAN DO when he uses his pace and presses fwd rather than going backwards. What we want and what we need!!!!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Pies @ MCG
Obviously they were embarrassed last week. Also Collingwood fwd pressure is non existent. But gee whizz when Savage actually backs himself and uses his pace he is a whole new man. He is the one we desperately need to break out of defence. He has genuine pace when he decides to use it. Sometimes he goes ultra negative. I'd rather see him take them on and get caught than going into his shell and playing ultra conservative.matrix wrote:Fuuny how everyone that was getting slammed on here last week by us is now actaully playing well
Dunstan, gilbert..savage..even gears

Cracking effort, using the space pretty well. Very good crowd, seeing Gilbo mark and kick a goal an expected treat. Paddy moving ok, crowd is willing him to star. Dunstan and Savage have really lifted a notch. Beautiful afternoon for the footy; keep going Sainters!

Minch needs to play in the middle for a bit FFS

+1. Give the kid a go. If he proves the coach wrong by having a good game - who cares. Noone will hold it against the coach - everyone will be pleased. Egos aside and team first.Jacks Back wrote:Minch needs to play in the middle for a bit FFS

Watching live up here on FTA. Ross is killing it and his use of the ball great from the centre. First time I've seen him play i think.

McCartin is a certainty to be good imo. Two years away from being dominant.
Re: Match Thread Saints v Pies @ MCG
End to end stuff their midfield better than ours worried we will fade in second half

Not often we have 8 goal kickers by half time. Forward pressure is very very good. Hope we can just keep on. Fingers crossed for Roo.

Paddy's mark was fantastic. Just hope we don't have two concussions ...

In the 1966 SF, we were 2 points ahead at half time! Spooky! Then again, we lost that game.

No they are right, I have amended my post. It was in the semi that we were ahead.stevie wrote:Charnel 7 knobs said pies were 1 pt up at ht in 66? And piss this other sport rubbish off footy. Olympic and tennis trashperfectionist wrote:In the 1966 GF,we were 2 points ahead at half time! Spooky!
