So saddened to know dear Tom is no longer with us. An original on the Saintsational site, a positive and passionate Saints supporter.
Shared many a laugh with Tom, when he came to Perth on visits. One of nature's gentlemen, with a rascal's sense of humour.
RIP Tom.

Re: Faithful Saint -Rest in Peace
Heaven just got another great Saint.. Tom was a great bloke always greeting you with a warm smile and a great sense of humour a true gentleman. I have fond memories of his cheeky questions he would post to former CEO Archie Fraser about shouting the Whitten bar a beer after a win on the short lived "Ask Archie" forum... He would joke his arms were short and his pockets were deep when it came to buying a beer but he was one of the most generous fellas about - so glad to say I had shared a beer with Tom and even prouder to say he shouted me one once

Only knew Eastern from his posts on the now obsolete True Sainters site and on here of course. He seemed like a really nice bloke who unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting.
RIP Tom.
Condolences to family and friends and all who knew him.

Dear Eastern...
So terribly sad to hear this news...
So many lovely memories of a wonderful pal across the Forums over the years...the laughs were many...from Nana's coleslaw disaster many moons ago... to years of being upbeat and always positive about your beloved Saints.
You have been part of this Forum forever ....and I know without a doubt... you will be terribly missed.
Rest in Peace dear friend.

Re: Faithful Saint -Rest in Peace
Deeply saddened by the news this morning.
Enjoyed many a pre game get together at the E.J. Whitten Bar
R.I.P. to a true saint, condolences to his family.
This site, and St.Kilda games will seem a little empty without his presence.

Oh dear. Horrible news. Extremely sad. He was a true Saint and a great guy.
To all his family and friends my condolences.
To all forumites - with your permission - I would like to honour Tom with an annual Award - to be placed as a sticky - not sure what for - maybe greatest leader on field each year? Driving force? Hmmm The Eastern Driving Force Award? Any other ideas? After almost 20 years he deserves to be honoured and remembered.

Re: Faithful Saint -Rest in Peace
Just shocked to hear this news - met Tom quite a few times and originally during our legendary forum games. RIP mate. an absolute true Sainter.saint66au wrote:Met Tom through this Forum...and in person at an Intra Club game in the early 2000's
Since then have watched many many games in his company...and had a pregame ale at more games than not over 15 or more years.
Beloved member of our Saints community and also a passionate advocate for road safety and driver education.
One of natures gentlemen and a more positive and glass half full fan you'd not meet.
RIP mate..deepest condolences to Wendy and family
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

RIP.
USELESS FACT: The WADA case against Essendon (in Sydney as well) is exactly 10 years to the day that Australia qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Re: Faithful Saint -Rest in Peace
Wonderful idea. It will be a great way to remember, by all testimony, a great human being and a true sainter. I just had a wake for Eastern with my son. My son was one of those arrogant driving student. I used to threaten him that I will send him to Melbourne to board with Eastern and master the art of driving. I used to show him some of Eastern's funny posts on matters driving.BackFromUSA wrote:Oh dear. Horrible news. Extremely sad. He was a true Saint and a great guy.

The award is a great idea.
He's made a lasting positive impact on the driving ability of many and therefore has helped make our roads safer.
