We played north in Wangaratta. We were supposed to play Brisbane a fortnight later but it got washed out. We then played Melbourne the following week. There was then a footy free weekend before round 1.

Plus we didn't play a lot of senior players in the 1st NAB match against North (or they came off at half time) as Brisbane was going to be their hitout.

I really think the AFL cost us today's game as, if we were as fit as them, then we would have won - so that's 4 points down the drain.

When you take Roo, Montagna and Fisher out of the side, it's a very young list.

And Gilbo, Geary, Dempster, Armo, Steven, Savage, Hickey.

But sure - without those 10 blokes it is a very young side.
