[quote="BigMart"]Is it me or are the commentators barracking....

Barracking, they get too excited when Port have possession. That's when you know they aren't on your side or likely to given unbiased comments.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Yep, absolutely. It happens every time. Need to shut it down back there.Bluthy wrote:with their class they are pretty ruthless we have to shut them down on the halfback

It says something. The guy has ALL the qualities of a great leader, club man and the guy you'd want by your side in the clinches. I just wish so badly that his skills, his execution, would get better.skeptic wrote:Does anyone ever post a sentence about Geary that doesn't start with a compliment followed up with a but

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
bastard wingard. bad kick by newnes should have just held it close to half time
Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
9 goals 8 to 9 goals 2 shows how classy port are when they move it cleanly - they can cut you open in 30 seconds. But we are doing our share of attacking. We bombed too much early but are being more strategic going fwd. Brillaint first half.

Love the young saints tenacity . If roo can get into the game ..has been quiet we are in with a chance...we have a team of mid size bulldozers ..Weller is a beast.

Nice shots of Port players coming off the ground. Must be a PA only telecast.

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Positives:
Effort from all players is 100%.
Hickey - absolutely dominant performance. Come of age.
General game plan is good.
Weller - looks generally dangerous and doesnt die wondering.
That goal where we kicked end to end hitting targets against the tide (Gilbo kicked it in the end from 5 m out). Great composure and we didnt panic.
Negatives:
Geary's kicking
Fisher and Dempster look slow. Dempster in particular looks to be struggling a bit.
Eli, Dunstan, Acres, Billings need more of the ball - these guys are pretty young so dont want to be too harsh on them either.

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Great game by Hickey. Awesome in fact.
Just one more good quarter then a dog fight in the last. Can't see us going down by much today, may even be a quarter chance.
Interchange is 47 us to 42 them.
We have only 43 left for the game!
Why aren't the TV commentators following this, or is it above their comprehension?
The 90 cap is a REAL cap and can influence the outcome if you have hardly any left and the game is close.
Will we run out of legs??

Blatant throw in the build up to the last Port goal.

Would't be happy if I was a Port fan having over 60 points scored against a potentially bottom 6 team.Bluthy wrote:9 goals 8 to 9 goals 2 shows how classy port are when they move it cleanly - they can cut you open in 30 seconds. Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Good quarter by the Saints.
Main positive was Hickey's all round game in the ruck for us. In pressure situations often used the ball really well.
Main negative was that Geary really put us to the sword that quarter. He had the chance to set up StKilda goals, but instead set them up for Port including when running in the clear.
