Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Mixed feelings. Terrific endeavour. Roberton is a beast.
But poor decisions. Bruce should have gone to Acres in the goal square and Billings needed to either take the extra step and kick the goal or pass. No point lobbing it on to the goal line.

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
I feel like switching this game off.. Umpires having to much influence on the game
Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Yes, I feel like the whole team is like that. Too many long kicks in instead of finding targets.Con Gorozidis wrote:....and Billings needed to either take the extra step and kick it or pass. No point lobbing it on to the goal line.
Bruce should have nailed that goal.

If this is footy in 2016
It's a disgrace.... Umpiring is bordering ridiculous .... The crowd may as well umpire
And Josh Bruce cost us a goal with a selfish act

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Very good start by our boys. Why aren't I convinced they can keep it up?

I agree it's not enjoyable to watch anymoreBigMart wrote:If this is footy in 2016

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Great first qtr for 2016. Benefited from some huge Port turnovers where they are pretty rusty. But we are putting huge pressure on. Roberton, Steven, Hickey doing really well.
Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
Good quarter. Capitalising on turnovers more than we did in 2015. Moving forward from half back well, just the structure and kicks into 50 that are worrying. Pressure is great, a continuation from last year.

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
I'm wanting to enjoy the game especially given that we're playing well...
But the match is near on unwatchable.
It's a game of where will the next free kick be played.
Deliberate out of bounds is being paid willy nilly and completely inconsistently... A second counts as prior opportunity sometimes, a run down doesn't at others.
Ugh

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
oob rule is just overumpired and quite stupid in it's intent whilst anyone is still allowed to leap in a marking contest and punch the ball directly out anyway.

Re: Game Day: Power V Saints
I've watched a few games over the weekend, only missed the Dogs/Freo game earlier, the deliberate OOB rule has been fairly consistent across the board. Benefit of the doubt certainly isn't with the player with the ball, that's for sure.

25 to 23 interchanges at qtr time.
5 over par so need to watch that.
Port are at 23 with an injury though.
