Re: Where was the 300th for ....
I was at Barry's game.
It was at Moorabbin vs Bulldogs.
It was a big deal as he was the first Saint to 300, although he was well past it.
We won, thanks to Robbie Mace who kicked 6 or 7. I think he wore number 60 for a lot of the game.

Re: Where was the 300th for ....
From memory Barry Breen's was in 1982 at Moorabbin (maybe round 16 or something), we came back and won, largely due to Robbie Mace's efforts - we all received a parchment certificate for posterity with our footy record that day - but it was proven much later on that his actual 300th was played a week later against Carlton at VFL park. Never mind, the Footscray game was memorable.
Loewe's 300th was against the Sydney Swans at Docklands in 2001 and we won.
Harvs 300th we lost against West Coast in Perth, I think.

Re: Where was the 300th for ....
Breen played one more game against Carlton at Princes Park. We lost by 76 points and Ross Ditchburn kicked 12.
Years later the AFL changed the way they counted games. State games played on the same weekend as VFL games had previously counted to the VFL/AFL totals but they changed that so Breen's total went from 301 to 300. According to the AFL, the Carlton game was his 300th.

Harv's 300th was the 2004 prelim vs Port in Adelaide. The game you're thinking of was his 350th in Perth where we beat the Eagles in a must win game in 2007.saintbrat wrote:Just watching Burkey's 300th game

If you had watched the "Winners" from rd 16 1982 when Breen played his 300th vs Footscray , you would of seen a very nice bit of film of him being carried off the ground after the game and a nice 3min interview in the rooms. But now sadly we are in the era of the reboot so when the episode in Question was on Fox 8mths ago all the Highlights of the game and Breen stuff was cut out so unless someone had a video in 1982 and taped it, we most likely will sadly never see it.

I've got one of these too. I remember the day like it was yesterday - it was the first game that I went to by myself as a young teenager. Caught the train to Moorabbin and walked to the ground with a stream of fellow Saints supporters. They were selling these for 1 dollar - rolled up with a red ribbon tied around it. The game was fantastic and a great tribute to Breen.
I went home and stuck the certificate on my study desk and it was there for years. When I was overseas working many years later, my mum moved and all my desk stuff was boxed up - including this. It's moved a couple of times since and I think it is in a box with all my childhood memories - I'll have to go fish it out.
Oh, the memories.....
Go Saints!

Re: Where was the 300th for ....
I re-read Stewart Loewe's certificate and his was for breaking the club games record, not for his 300th game.mcadam05 wrote:mambo2706 wrote:Was there one for Nathan Burke?
Good Question , I Dont think there was maybe because it wasnt a St.Kilda home game
Re: Where was the 300th for ....
What an amazing record by Loewe
B&F 1990
RU in 91/92/93
Third 1995
RU 1996
Third in 1997
That is 7 top three finishes in 8 years. Made finals in three of those years, in side that contained Harvey, Winmar, Lockett, Burke, Frawley, Grant, Everitt, Jones, Peckett, McAdam, Pekin, Shanahan, Rice.
So dominant in the early 90s he was AA CHF from 90-92 Victorian Rep in all of those years inc EJ Whitten Medal. Then was Leading Goal Kicker in 95/96 after plugger left bagging 90 in one season.
Possibly our most underrated player?
Although both Harves, Winmar and Burkie are probably underrated also... They were absolute stars.

There were Robert Harvey hand held face masks for his 324th game (club record) and a similar sized hand held #35 guernsey with his stats on the back for his 350th game.Enrico_Misso wrote:I think they gave everyone a NB face mask.mcadam05 wrote:mambo2706 wrote:Was there one for Nathan Burke?
