There will be 3 others to drop out of the squad of 29!

Just read that because of the torrential rain expected, the Lions have contacted the Saints about moving the game to Monday in Brisbane for safety reasons

glad I never booked flights back Sunday night to get to work Monday
Most of the games are under heat policy and the Saints face rain.

Sorry, I'm not match fit.

DWoodrow would have been the perfect replacement for Newnes.

Is that even feasible? Changing flights for large number of players + support staff, changing accommodation, organising buses/transport... Not happening.

The second link also has another article thumbnail at the bottom of the page. Great little video of Armo being asked a question by a schoolkid from his old school.

I'm honestly over the friggin AFL.

Idiotic to schedule a game up there at this time of the year and now they have no plans to move it.

I hope both teams boycott the game if it's a flood zone tomorrow. It's only a frickin praccy match. Play it in Brissie on Monday and be done with it

Mackay must be flooded or close to it. They've had 240mm of rain in the past 72 hours and it's pouring at the moment. Looking at BOM forecasts there could be another 100mm of rain between now and the end of tomorrow.

Just move it now and be done with it. I feel for the locals and especially the Armo clan but player safety first. If it was the good old days you'd play regardless but not now

The 240pm kickoff time was silly too if there was no rain. Any games in Qld this time of year should be at night. A Sat night for this game would've been more sensible but I guess it's a moot point now.

You've gotta wonder how they schedule a game in the tropics in the middle of wet season... Great for locals, but it will do very little for honing either teams game plans.

Yeah plenty of rain around http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR223.loop.shtml#skip

If it has to be moved because its just not safe or even possible to play, it just has to be moved. Its a pain in the arse for everyone but especially the fans who are travelling up there. All you could is apologise profusely - especially the AFL for scheduling it - and offer to reimburse any out of pocket expenses and give them some club goodies or special treatment. But they need to make a decision today.

The dumbtards at the AFL will only make a move if they are pressured by the media. They are simply not capable of thinking for themselves.

This is minor compared to the Essendon scandal and allowing a banned player to be involved in the AFL.

But how can we get rid of the whole board of the AFL from the ChaimN down is the big question??

Seems to be hanging right onto the coast. Shame it's not moving inland which would be better for the farmers!

Schedule a game in cyclone season in the tropics in the middle of the day. And these people are all getting paid $500k+. Absolute morons.
It was either going to be too hot or or too wet. They should be playing under lights at night for starters.

Besides Newnes we have a pretty much full strength side.
Anyone else I have missed who is not playing?

All applicants for jobs at AFL house must have an IQ less than or equal to their age. Let's hope they can find some centurions that need a job
