saw a snippett ot tweet the other day suggesting the team had had their vote prior to their weekend off.
So look for an announcement in the next week
Media obviously have wind of this-- maybe their are finally checking the right sources

ST KILDA could yet resist the urge to push a succession plan for star skipper Nick Riewoldt by retaining him as captain for one final year.
Riewoldt remains a towering presence at St Kilda, but Jarryn Geary and David Armitage both successfully filled in for him at various stages in 2015.
St Kilda will use the NAB Challenge to audition the rookie-list spot left vacant by Jake Carlisle’s ASADA suspension.
But first comes the leadership announcement next week after a meeting on Monday to work through the leadership group’s makeup.
St Kilda football boss Jamie Cox said the Saints were lucky to have a fantastic captain with a new generation of leaders also emerging.

What could "successfully filled in for him" possibly mean? They didn't kill anyone when they were captain?

CAn't go wrong with this. Nic's preparation is second to none and a great role model for the team on and off the field. It's probably also symbolic that we are still heavily reliant on these experienced guys and we have a lot of development work to do yet. We're not quite ready to unveil St Kilda 2.0. Next year will be the big unveiling I reckon complete with new Captain. Great to see Steven in the leadership group - he's obviously maturing and will become increasingly important as some of our oldies retire. We need Steven, Armo and Geary to really take over the driving of the standards.

SO confident in Jack Steven’s power to influence by his sheer will and skill, St Kilda decided he must be drafted into the club’s leadership group in 2016.
Steven, 25, does not enjoy public speaking and is shy in front of a TV camera, but it’s what the dual best-and-fairest winner does with the Sherrin that matters to the Saints.
Steven wasn’t voted in by his teammates, but by the leadership group he is joining — captain Nick Riewoldt, in charge for his 11th season, Leigh Montagna, Sean Dempster, Jarryn Geary, David Armitage, Mav Weller and Jack Newnes, as well as coach Alan Richardson and football boss Jamie Cox.
“He has such an influence around our playing group,” Richardson said of the former Lorne boy.
“He plays in the way we want him to play. He is his own man — he leads absolutely by example.

Thanks Bratty, Interesting re the running questions
Jack Steven would win the 50 metre dash
Nathan Wright would win one lap of the oval (440 yards)
Gears would win over 10km. As Newnes said, Gears is a machine!

Good little interview, confident talker. Have always loved the way he is on the field, doesn't make many mistakes and is a great kick.
Is pretty keen to get into the midfield. Reckon wing/hbf does suit him though.
Has racked up 70 games quickly.
