Jaeger O'Meara
Fairly common knowledge up here he spends every spare minute in Melbourne, and will re-locate down at seasons end.
Not sure of his exact age, but would think he'd be a good fit with our young team.
Thoughts ?

If fit we need to look at getting him. great player and the perfect age. I suppose it depends on his form this season coming off a very bad injury.

He's 21 isn't he? I thought the club had been chatting to him for a while. Hopefully he sees a future for himself at the Saints.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Perfect fit for us. But if he seriously wants to move to Melbourne (he is from WA) then the other 8 Melbourne sides will be also lining up for him in a big way.
The Bombers might have the number 1 pick and a ton of money in the kitty. Carlton will have a pick before us as well.
Our best chance would be if he is mates with Weller.

His knee is stuffed.
He may never fully recover. Still on the GC injury list and his knee will go again for sure.
better off targeting Sidebottom or Heppell

What about Dion Prestia?Bunk_Moreland wrote:His knee is stuffed.

Unless we can trade absolute certain young gun (unlikely) I think we are better going to the draft and using a top 8 pick there.
Re: Jaeger O'Meara
From all reports from the "in the know" rumours, he has a BIG target on his back for the saints.
Injuries are a concern but i'd have to back our medical staff to give him a green light first.
jaxons mentioned he was on our radar as well as mg from BF, both are pretty reliable.
I'm expecting a play for him next year for sure, well if was a gambler.
An up and running JOM is exactly what we need

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

If he gets through the season with no more problems he'll be fielding offers from every Melbourne club I reckon.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Guy is a gun. The only way he will end up at our club is if his knees really are stuffed and/or we pay massive overs to him and to the GC. If fit , odds are strongly in favour that he will go to a big club like all the young guns want to.

Not sure if his height is wrong but he seems taller. I'm 190 cm and used to see him close up at my work and he was pretty level with mest.byron wrote:22 years old in 3 weeks. 44 games under his belt. 184 cm. 82kg.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Most height and weight stats are wrong in the AFL.... especially weight. He was probably 184cm at the draft combine 5 years ago.stevie wrote:Not sure if his height is wrong but he seems taller. He's got everything. He's the real deal. Unfortunately he is coming off a terrible injury. Have to wait and see a bit.sabras wrote:has he got pace?

Doesn't say much for the occupation of the girlfriend...only one occupation I can think of where the customers are referred to as Jon...saynta wrote:He bought a house in Melbourne and his girl friend who has a great jon, lives here.

I did see what she did for a living but short term memory fade has fixed that.
Also he bought an apartment, not a house. Sorry again.

In all seriousness, he'd be a great get...Sensational player...he was from his first game.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
If we can get him with our first pick this year then yes. But if we have to give up 2 first round picks then forget it. I would rather just keep going to the Draft and picking the best 18 year old. Then we can target a FA which doesn't cost draft picks.
