So who has been posting here for more than 10 years
I hope ppl don't mind this type of thread in the off-season
When the temporary forum was up and about during the Blight ride, i found this forum
Backfromusa
Bunk Moreland
Saynta
Were all hear though under different nics
Big Mart and ripplugger66 came along before too long... Again different names
Saintrising and Saintbrat have seemingly been around forever.
Mehar Baba and Statsman don't post so much but have lasted the journey
Fireman, Loriswa, Everton - seems like they've all been here the entire time
Then there's a plethora of ppl that have been posting for a long time but i have no idea how long. Ten years is a long time... Who has made the journey

Re: So who has been posting here for more than 10 years
I did post a long time ago in a forum that I thought was SS. maybe someone can help. O think the forum didn't actually have threads but the posts were just in order of the time they were posted. Not sure if that is exactly right. Would have been about 1999.

Around the 2001 Draft... Discussing the Super Draft
Interesting thoughts
My wants were;
2- Chris Judd.... I assumed Ball would be gone!!
5- Luke Hodge... Hopeful the WA teams would pass on him
13-Nick DalSanto/Sam Power/B.Reilly
21 - Steve Johnson... As a Key Fwd?
37 - David Rodan
49 - Josh Dicketts
Can You imagine... I know we were keen on all of those players, except Rodan, but of course we were keen on many.
I was annoyed when we drafted
Xavier Clarke
Leigh Montagna
Danced in the street when we got Josh Dicketts
Over the moon when we got L. Ball as I rated him higher than Judd/Hodge
I was also keen on Mazenod boy Andrew Carrazzo (played there ATT)
I actually found another site (Sainters or something) first. But soon got onto this one.
Straight away found some enlightened posters and some adversaries .... It was great. My experiences on this site have only been poor twice. When a couple of posters made mention of my personal life/family members. And when mods conveniently deleted posts they wanted to censor.

In those days there was freedom of speech and the mods were reasonable.

I joined in 2001ish but my profile says 2004.
Dan Warna was my favourite contributor back in those days. I haven't seen him around in a long time.
There seemed to be a lot more proper footy talk back then rather than bickering and name calling!

Re: So who has been posting here for more than 10 years
Yeah I was SuperDuperouzel or something similar in the late-'90s, I remember it was definitely last millennium because of the job I was working at... More a lurker than a poster though because I live up north these days and need SS to find out what's happening at the club, get put off at times by the personal animosities derailing threads although that (touch wood) seems to be abating a bit...
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

Re: So who has been posting here for more than 10 years
I was there at the beginning too.
Been living in Minneapolis for 20+ years though I was born and bred in St Kilda. Sold the pink Sporting Globe on Saturday evenings on the corner of Acland and Carlisle Streets for a few years to mainly smug Richmond supporters back then. I thought they were too cocky by half and boy have they crapped out since then. Shadenfreud baby.

Re: So who has been posting here for more than 10 years
I moved to Perth in December 1996. So for the season of 1997 I started going to Western Saints functions and Roger and a few other Western Saints members rogerwa, bradwa, & firthy were WA posters on the original SS site to name a few then. I know it was up and going when Timid Watson was our coach. Think I started posting during the 1999 season. The site crashed a number of times.
When GT came as coach he & RB regularly came on the site and chatted -mainly lateon Friday evenings - it would have been early hours of the morning eastern states time.
