As I understand it the Saints cannot assist in anyway accept drug counselling.
Surgery or medical may be a grey area, but I am assumig the Saints cannot fund it.
Then his former employer can fund it, can't they? Or the players' white knight, the AFLPA.
I doubt that any football or sporting related body can fund it.
Former employer is the EFC, so no. Just as they will not be able to support any EFC player.
The EFC and ex EFC players cannot play, coach or be involved in any way with any football club apart from the very limited drug counselling.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Never wanted him. Said so right at the start. I'm not even concerned if he never plays a game for the Saints.
I hope Tom Lee will be able to step up this season, surprise the doubters and add something to our backline and Flakey Jakey is confined to the rubbish bin of poor recruiting made by the Saints.
Saints often make poor recruiting decisions and possibly will continue to do so........... just the modus operandi of Saints throughout its history. Get used to it folks!!!!
• We would have taken Gresham at #5 bumper sticker
• We're heading back to the ground that we shouldn't have left - T-shirt
• Tom Lee & Tom Hickey didn't cost us picks 12 & 13 - hoody
Sponsored by Jake Carlisle's revoked wages from a doping ban.
I laughed way too hard at that. As a saints supporter it's instinctive to turn tears of pain into tears of laughter.
As a condition of membership this year, could it be a requirement that members are scheduled for one day to go around to Jake's place and check up on him "Jake, have you gone for a run today or have you been playing x-box all day? Well off you go. We'll do some ball drills in the backyard when you get back. And leave your phone here please..
Ooh another positive - Jake doesn't need to worry about the travel time to training anymore so can take his time moving. Just keeps getting better!! What a great day for the club.
St Kilda FC has received a copy of the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision regarding the 34 past and present Essendon players, which includes Jake Carlisle.
Jake is understandably devastated with the decision, and our priority is to provide him with ongoing welfare and support.
St Kilda is currently liaising with the AFL and the AFLPA to determine more detailed implications of this morning’s decision and will provide further updates as appropriate

It'd be interesting to know who the people were at the club who were strongest in their convictions and how the plan to recruit Carlisle was hatched. Was it the coach? We know it'll set us back temporarily and we know 100% that we will not be winning as many games this year as we would have liked if Jake was playing.
Maybe the damage to our prospects will be long lasting but let's hope not. How will this decision affect the game plan and how do we need to adjust? How will it affect the players if we are bottom 4 side again? If it was Richo then that is a gamble that didn't pay off and could ultimately cost him his senior coaching career.
It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.
It'd be patently unfair if Essendon is allowed to play the no. 5 draft pick Darcy Parish - while St Kilda is being punished by not being able to play Carlisle.

bloke will be hurting deep
but
he had a choice, he is a grown man
others at essendon refused to be part of it so its not hard ffs
obviously the club will stand behind him as best htey can without breaching any rules
he will have to go and get a personal trainer and hopefully the club have already given him advice on what they want him to do for the year he can only train on his own
we will now see how badly he wants to be an afl player for st kilda
ill back him in
sure he has done some stupid shite, christ who hasnt in life, but ill back the bloke in to keep himself fit and be part of st kilda in 2017 when we are finally climbing back up to the top and having a red hot crack at gettin into the 8 and playing finals
time will tell if us saint supporters backing him in will bite us on the ass

I think there is zero chance of us getting any compensation out of Essendon... It's not like the WADA investigation was a secret, we knew 100% that he was potentially facing bans when we traded for him.
Essendon aren't going to compensate portx2, the dogs, Melb and us.
Anyone mad enough to trade with Essendon under these circumstances deserves very little sympathy.
Never seen so many people happy to tell us how right they were about Carlisle even if being right means the club suffers. Pat on the backs. Having said that we made a poor decision in hindsight obviously. One person said its the same a knee reco. Yep missing the year the same but there is no way we would have paid what we did if a person was known to be missing a year.
Anyway that's all in the past and none of it can be changed now so those who are saying they were right or sooking about our club need to get on board. Knocking the recruiting or Carlisle isn't going to help anyone. All it seems to do is make more people angry on here.

+1
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

i cant be assed going back reading 6 pages
I have absolutely no sympathy for the club (St Kilda), as it was an extremely poor decision to trade for Carlisle which has again been proven to be the case. Carlisle and Essendon are poison and always have been!
The one positive out of this is it will give Goddard and Delaney the chance to further develop their games.
Carlisles trade will cost our club for years with this years salary for zero games, the poor marketing outlook and the drafts picks we gave up for this clown.
As far as our recruiting team are concerned they should publicly apologise to the membership for making such a quantum f-up....
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

I think the thing for Carlisle to do is get a job, or go to uni or go travelling. A year is a long time. The word is he doesn't do a lot outside footy except play x-box and maybe some other erm relaxing activities with dodgy mates. There is life after footy and this is his chance to pursue something different. Sitting around just training and thinking of footy in your isolated world would drive you mad - and the devil makes work for idle hands (and nostrils). I think Saad worked as a stock broker or something. There will be plenty of sponsers or coterie members who could hook him up. He needs to have a good think of what he would like to pursue as a career.
This could make or break him. If he can get through these 4 years of hell, come back a better rounded, more focused person to a club that is launching a flag tilt then he is still in his prime to contribute. If things go off the rails in the next year with the stress of being isolated from the club and care and support that comes from that, that could be it.
good call
he could stay supper fit AND do a course, at least at diploma level to start settin himself up for life after footy
needs to try and turn this into something he can benefit from
no point dwelling on it for 6 months, getting himself to a low point and wasting time and money

What salary? And we probably are nearly on the minimum anyway. How does paying a salary, which I don't think we do, cost us into next season let alone years? Please explain? And they shouldn't apologise at all. The last thing we need is people knocking the club all the time.
