Solution:
Rushie, bring those misguided siblings of yours along with you (for the ride ).
They will thank you.

Re: Rushie is a Financial Saint
Theclub has sent out all the paperwork and packages associated with my 2016 Membership.
To be honest, I've forgotten about the Blues already.

I hope this means you will remain a Saintsational contributor well after the Essendope Saga becomes a distant memory.IanRush wrote:Theclub has sent out all the paperwork and packages associated with my 2016 Membership.

I am actually a Fitzroy refugee, my true team is Fitzroy, I only 'leaned' on Carlton after about 2001 or so, the first few non-Fitzroy years, I did not care much.

argued that "He who converts to the Saints has finally seen the Light". Rushie's case is different. By his own admission, he has been a refugee since the demise of his beloved Fitzroy. In that sense Carlton has not been a home. Just a refugee camp. Rushie, I hope you have finally found a club to call home.

Re: Rushie is a Financial Saint
But as a refugee he must 'assimilate' totally into the Saintly way of life............ He can't pine for any old Fitzroy culture. He must realise that's all gonski, nor any of that brown bagging culture he would have been exposed to in that refugee cesspool at Caaaaaarlton.santazzi wrote:Hey Matrix, it is all ok if the change is to the Saints. Is he on a temporary permit? What tests will he have to pass for permanent residency as a Saint?

Thanks mate, with each day I'm starting to wonder why I leaned on the Blues in those 'just find a team' years after 1996.santazzi wrote:That is right Rushie. From my perspective you are now a member of the Saints family.
I think I might be able to add something to the Saints. Chat soon.

Re: Rushie is a Financial Saint
Rushie .......... If you can add to the Saints what you have added to this site you'll add some lateral musings that definitely won't be boring. Enjoy the ride with the Saints, methinks you're climbing onboard for a journey that may culminate in us achieving 'the holy grail' this century. It's so much more exciting when we don't have much silverware in our trophy cabinet to boast about:PIanRush wrote:Thanks mate, with each day I'm starting to wonder why I leaned on the Blues in those 'just find a team' years after 1996.santazzi wrote:That is right Rushie. Re: Rushie is a Financial Saint
Rushie..... a verse in poem made me think of you.
Reading a bit of C.J Dennis before, viz., ' Ginger Mick' and there is a poem "The Call of Stoush", where in a verse he mentions your 3 footy teams, Fitzroy, Carlton & Saints in one line. My thoughts flew straight to you
Here 'tis the verse:
'E never spouted no 'igh-sounding' stuff
About stern jooty an' 'is country's call;
But, in 'is way, 'e' 'eard it right enough
A-callin' like the shout uv "On the Ball!"
Wot time the footer brings the clicks great joy,
An' Saints er Carlton roughs it up wiv 'Roy.
You might need TOT to interpret this for you Rushie. It's from a bygone era. I doubt many Aussies visit C. J. Dennis or even know who he was. Methinks from his language style in his posts, TOT has been heavily influenced by the writings of this interesting Australian poet.
Although, me thinks TOT wouldn't be too pleased that Dennis was also a verse-journalist wiv the Murdoch Press in 'is day

Can happen . . .
As a kid in the 50s/early 60s I followed The Dee's (many premierships!)
then one summer's day, on the beach at Rye, there he was . . BIG CARL!
Dressed only in his "Jonco's", brown as a nut, blonde hair flappin in the
sea breeze. more than enough to turn me on . . er, um, to the Saints!

Rushie reads like a "look at me" poster.
He's not even a True Saint.
Can we dump him ?
