How long did it take Armitage, Steven, and Hayes to get the required tank? We've seen plenty of freakishly aerobic athletes come in from the U18s in recent years, but they are the exception rather than the rule. I remember Barry Hall being overlooked by most clubs because of his lack of endurance and overall inadequate fitness for AFL. football.

Bottom line is, no matter what your fitness is, if you don't know how to play the game, like Jessie White at Collingwood, it doesn't matter what you're endurance is like. Paddy knows when and where to lead, is big and strong, and is of fine character by all reports. You can do something about your fitness, but it's much harder to teacj=h a player how to read the game and where to position himself.
