Congrats Jarryn. 3 years is a real show of faith from the club. It makes sense. We could well have Dempster and Fisher retire at the end of the year, and maybe JOey the next. That's a lot of experience and leadership walking out the door. We've got some real talent in but they are still babies in AFL terms.

If the club thinks his leadership and courage and play reading are so valuable then it could carry his poor kicking especially if we have lots of good kicking power there which is how its looking.

Geary used to give us some real dash out of defence for us but that seemed to dry up the last couple of years. Maybe because he has had to play a cover defence role with the ball coming down back a lot. If Goddard and Carlisle can develop into a strong defensive partnership and another tallish third defender stakes his claim, that might free Geary to give some dashing rebound again.
