We would have chosen Gresham at 6.

Got to feel sorry for Francis.

Carslile and Gresham v Francis and pick 24.

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
For the media its Carlisle v Francis and we might as well get used to it. It's a silly comparison but I guarantee you if Francis is a star and Carlisle is average or injury prone or snap chats his dick, they will hammer us over it.

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
My info is that Francis lacks a hard edge on disclosed form at West Adelaide.
Plus 191cm (so Fisher, Dempster and shorter than Roberton and Gilbert) v 198cm.
So no comparison.
There is a risk with any player and more so with 18 year olds.
So we have done OK in my view.

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
If you want to compare Francis vs Gresham, just look at the Gresham highlight where he grabs the loose ball, slides on one knee, gets up and slots a goal -- turning Francis comprehensively inside out in the process.
Carlisle is just steak knives.

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
I believe pick 24 ended up being pick 29 which was Alex Morgan from Oakleigh Chargers.BigMart wrote:Who was pick 24
So the comparison will be Carslile and Gresham Vs Francis and Morgan.
The comparison should obviously be what our picks would have been but we will never know that.

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
We have effectively traded Aaron Francis and Mason Redman for Jake Carlisle and Jade Gresham.
Would do that every day of the week.

ST KILDA recruit Jake Carlisle is beginning to win the respect of his new teammates after a rocky start to life as a Saint.
The former Bomber ramped up his workload during the club’s pre-season training camp on the Sunshine Coast last week, where he joined in various drills with the main group.
But despite not yet being in full training, the defender has already made an impression on new teammate Jarryn Geary, who says he has been “smashing himself”.
“He’s been really good. One thing you can definitely tell from the short time he’s been here is he’s got a great work ethic,” Geary said on Wednesday.
“You look over and see him smashing himself on the boundary line. That’s all he can do — he doesn’t have to do anything special just work hard and when the time comes to pull on the jumper I’m sure he’ll represent us well.
“He came under those circumstances but since then he’s really worked hard so we’re looking forward to seeing him pull on the jumper.”

Will be a key player in our upcoming run of flags from 2018 onwards. (Any doubting Saintsationalists... please, be my guest, bookmark this post. )
In an open draft of this year's 'available' players... white line fever filmed, or not... I'd have our Jakey at number one... then daylight... lots of daylight.
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?

Re: Aaron Francis vs. Carlisle
Whoopdy doo. What's he going to say "Jake's been really poor on the track and we him caught snorting up in the toilets"? Geary's a good club man so lets not pretend this is other than standard club propaganda. Everyone is training the house down, working really hard etc etc. Pay me $10,000 a week and I'll smash on it on the training track for 3 hours a day like you ain't never seen.saynta wrote:http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/t ... 59ff6cf140
