Hilarious Joffa... Don't forget to reference your statements though...
Trying to form an alliance are you old buddy?...
Like a teenager I reckon....
It'll be best available
As I said earlier in the thread
All three recruiters have stated on the website
Trout stated in the HS
Baines stated on radio
AR always says
It's best talent in the door policy... Not hard to understand
Why don't you draft for type = because you draft a player for 10-15 years not for needs in the next 4 years when most of those games maybe in the VFL anyway.
A top end ouch hits their prime at 23/4 which is five to six years away... Who the hell do we know what type is needed then??
It's 4 more Drafts and half a list change away.... Common sense says in that time we need to replace Armo/Geary
Put it this way
6 years ago we were in a GF
A lot can happen
Drafting doesn't build teams it builds lists...

Re: Pick 14 + others
What about Tom Cole? Played 3 VFL games (for Geelong) - DE of 83% and in the best 2/3. Tested well at the combine also.MCG-Unit wrote:Update

I feel Balic would be a good safe choice. Feels less risky than some others. Lives in Mordy too.MCG-Unit wrote:Update

Re: Pick 14
re: outside vs inside midfielder argument.
I still return to the 2009 GF when we had to leave Armitage out of the side, because we already had Ball as the inside midfielder. Which demonstrates to me that there is only room for so many (inside midfielders/players) in the side - which suggests that we may have already overdone it with the inside midfielders, unless we think that Ross and Dunstan are not going to make it. Have we wasted those picks - and it's back to the drawing board? I wouldn't have thought so.

Re: Pick 14
Couldn't agree more, no more inside midfielders please! We need run, run and more run, needs to be an outside midfielder/half back with above average pace.samoht wrote:re: outside vs inside midfielder argument.

Yes Balic should be a safe pick, classy. (at about DP 18-19) - still more upside too IMOCon Gorozidis wrote:I feel Balic would be a good safe choice. Feels less risky than some others. Lives in Mordy too.MCG-Unit wrote:Update

Re: Pick 14
Only knock on Balic is he isnt quick. Seems similar to Acres from footage I have seen. Hurt his wrist which probably prevented him playing a VFL game at the end of the season like some others did (e.g Cole, Mathieson, Tucker). He also looks quite weak - but that doesnt worry me because strength can be gained in the gym.
Overall he does like quite a good all rounder and would be a safeish pick. Id be happy if we got him. Pick 14 is probably a bit of a crapshoot as they are probably 10 blokes you could pick at that stage that look even and have different strengths/weaknesses. I also keep coming back to Tucker. Has some attributes that I think we need - quickish and lovely left boot. Cole also looks like a pretty solid player. Not a stand out but a good workhorse - similar to Newnes.

Didn't realise its tomorrow. It's like christmas eve - can't wait to unwrap our new presents. "Oh boy, a genuine ball winning mid with good disposal - just what I wanted!"

I hope you have been a good little bluthy all year so our recruiting Santa can put the right player into your/our teamBluthy wrote:Didn't realise its tomorrow. Re: Pick 14
Mostly. Except when my immature little brother starts fights with me (he's got the top Bunk ) because I criticise his slacker friend Jake who's always hogging our PS4 and snap-chatting his coke (can that is). I've learnt to just ignore that no-good Plugger who roams the neighborhood looking for trouble.loris wrote:I hope you have been a good little bluthy all year so our recruiting Santa can put the right player into your/our teamBluthy wrote:Didn't realise its tomorrow. I just realised that Santa wears red, white and black. Christmas headlines from the tabloids "ANOTHER SAINTS CONTROVERSY - CRAZY OLD MAN WEARING ST KILDA COLOURS BREAKS INTO PEOPLES HOMES"

Re: Pick 14
gday peeps.
ive always been more of a "reader" than a "poster" on here but tomorrows draft is gonna be very interesting.
As im not an indepth follower of the TAC cup can somebody tell me out of the group of kids that we are a chance to get with pick 14 , who would be rated as the best kick?
I think classy users by foot is very imortant for our rebuild.

Probably Tucker = best kick. Left footer. Looks pretty accurate. Text book kicking action.Q-TRAIN wrote:gday peeps.

Re: Pick 14
Tucker looking odds on favourite for our pick with Emma Q putting him there...
With 2 small but obvious stumbling blocks...
1. still a chance he gets picked up before us...
2. an unexpected slider
makes sense though cause I recon we are really are loking for guys who run with the ball

Re: Pick 14
I quite like the idea of Tucker because I put a heavy weighting on kicking skills. Then we put the onus fairly and squarely on Ross, Dunstan and Acres. These three must start winning more clearances.SuperDuper wrote:Tucker looking odds on favourite for our pick with Emma Q putting him there...

I would take Tucker over Balic to be honest.

Remember we chose a then unproven Dempster to be forward pressure, push into the midfield guy...
Armo wasn't played becuase the coach didn't like/rate him
