Poll: Final player delisted
Looks to me like we currently have 38 on the list out of a max of 40. We've let four guys go from the senior list (Markworth, Simpkin, Siposs, White) and added two (Carlisle, Freeman). So one more has to go before the National Draft because we have to have three free spots by then, even if one of them is used to promote Sinclair.
Options in the poll are people I could marginally see being let go. That said, it looks like Ray is the only one uncontracted, so he's surely the most likely. But paying out one of the others wouldn't cost a huge amount in the scheme of things.

Disagree on the second part, but anyway he's probably safe seeing as he signed for another year not long ago.RavsterII wrote:Darren Minchington??????

Don't see Minchington that good tbh, he's a midfield and needs to cement a spot there.RavsterII wrote:Darren Minchington??????

Has to be Ray
Still can't believe how bad he was in the west coast game

I thought trading in Carlisle was almost certainly the end of Ray at the Saints. He's predominantly played wing/half back with us and we have a plethora of those now. We've got enough elder statesmen defenders to teach the kids and his form hasn't been great. I just can't see why we need him.

Yeah, with Carlisle coming in it means that one of Fisher or Dempster doesn't have to play as tall which means that someone will be pushed out from the half back line so Ray should be the one to go in a domino affect.Bluthy wrote:I thought trading in Carlisle was almost certainly the end of Ray at the Saints. Re: Poll: Final player delisted
Unfortunately you have to go for the oldest guy who sytuggled to play this season so its Ray and please don't rookie him. We need untried in the rookie draft. Most wont make it but maybe one or two will. Some surprise. Ray wont surprise and if we are saying Schneider did it well the club have another 20 games into the younger guys and we also recruited an experienced Carlisle.

Re: Poll: Final player delisted
There may be ways around it but
We have delisted 4 players plus 1 from the rookie list.
We are certain to promote Sinclair.
We have Carlisle and Freeman arriving.
That means we have activated only one pick in the draft.
We have picks 14, 45 and 68.
We may need to activate pick 68 to use the points as backup on Bailey Rice.
Like I said there may be ways around like delaying the promotion of Sinclair but don't be surprised if
we delist a further 2 players not just 1.

Re: Poll: Final player delisted
Ray is the only player not contracted for 2016 -everyone else would need to be paid out which would be a waste of money and be included in the TPP.Goose is king wrote:Ray and curren for me

Except we elevate Sinclair with a pick in the draft.ace wrote:There may be ways around it but

Re: Poll: Final player delisted
I think we will delist two players prior to the draft to accomodate the Bailey Rice scenario raised by ace.
In that case we have to go for the two players with the least upside still on our list, which are Ray and Delaney.
Having said that, I think Pierce will have the least impact next season of any of the players listed in the poll.

I'm not sure we need to do that. If we need two picks but only put on one player than we will be a player short for the season. If that is the case then sides who use 7 academy picks just to get one player will be 6 players short so obviously you don't need to do that.

Re: Poll: Final player delisted
iF We did delist two players with a view of taking two kids and Rice in the draft, and we intended using picks 14, 1st round and 45 (39) Rice, 68 (55), and it turned out we needed both our 2nd and 3rd picks for Rice, or there was nobody left we fancied at 68 (55), we could always use the last place in the PSD. And if that turned out to be a flop, noboduy we wanted, we could use it to upgrade Holmes. It would not be lost.

We can if we like and we will get players even worse. That will suit you as you have another thing to complain or whinge about.
