Mitch Brown
We are interested in him according to the AFL web.
Mitch Brown(former Geelong) had a solid year in the VFL.
Should we target him as a rookie? really good depth tall and can swing back or forward(thought looks set at defence)
Really could be a gem in the rough type of player and has potential as he was a high draft pick
If developed well could make our 22 in our backline or become a valuable swingman
Should we consider him?

Re: Mitch Brown
Not unless we delist/rookie a contracted player. With Carlisle, Freeman and our minimum 3 draftees (#14, Rice & Sinclair) that means we need 5 list spots. We currently have 4, so we will have to delist/rookie the uncontracted Farren Ray as it is.Wayne42 wrote:Do we have a draft pick that would allow us to get him ?
Mind you, I'm not averse to taking Brown and rookieing Saunders or Curren.

Clint Jones looked exceptional at vfl level this year from all reports.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Mitch Brown
Several other clubs should be interested in the main draft. Moreso as he is "ready to play" witha mature body etc.
ie
Dogs could say use pick 51 on him. Someone thatcan play tall at either end would be very useful for them.
Hawks may have an interest with lake going.

Re: Mitch Brown
Is he 24/25? Might be in our age range seeing as we gave up pick 5 for carlisle a 24 y.o. He seems to be in the "very good VFL, average AFL player" category. He seems to much of a utility player without being able to cement himself in AFL as a forward or a back. I wouldn't rule him out maybe as rookie if he slides down.

Actually promoting Sinclair will count as one our minimum 3.Scoop wrote:Not unless we delist/rookie a contracted player. But if we are going to use the few points attached to pick 68 to reinforce pick 45 we need to activate that pick.
Means delisting one more player who can then be reclaimed in the draft but probably as a rookie.

Re: Mitch Brown
Is Saad still on our rookie list? I haven't heard about him, just that Schneider had retired.

Re: Mitch Brown
How much tall depth do we need? Lets use every pick on mids. Most will fail but one or two may make it. If we get Brown the only time he plays is injury or our young recuits aren't good enough. Surely we don't draft guys thinking we haven't recruited well.

Re: Mitch Brown
Had a stunning year at the zebs. If it's not us I hope he gets picked because he deserves a 2nd chance based on his 205 season.
If he was available at our later picks or in the rookie I'd snap him up

How about we just recruit Kieran Collins and just forget about delisted hacks like Mitch Brown.

I think we need a good mid much more than another KPB.

we delist Saad. Struggled afl and vfl level(at times) and wasnt consistent. we have players like minchington, sinclair and lonie who are out playing him.we can rookie list saad but I hear that collingwood is interested in him as they are crying out for more small forward depth.I think a new start fro Saad is best and would benefit us by freeing up space
Ray is another option but his experience is very key to our midfield development.

Silvagni is a hack footballer. He's a Ross Lyon role player.wally wrote:How does he compare to Silvani? People on here rated him a couple of years back in Sandy, he got picked up at Freo and seems to hold his spot when available.

Brown CJ TDL very good VFL players. Very ordinary AFL players!
