But if there isn't a sound explanation we should sack him, void his contract, and demand draft compensation from the afl, coz we've been stitched up.
The whole thing seemed strange I didn't have my glasses on, but can you see Carlisle's head or anybody's head? And Neil rent-a-quote Mitchell doesn't even mention Jake as I recall. It looks like stock footage.
In terms of quality it looks like a poor mans version of the clip of the guy jumping of the rocks in Sydney right into the path of a white pointer - before swimming frantically to safety - this was also aired on some crap current affairs programme probably aca - turned out to be a prank just some cut together footage - Aca or whoever don't care they just get it and show it get some ratings and move on -- this could easily be a stitch up

Even if he is pranking (how does he ever now 100% prove that?), and especially considering the timing, it's the action of a monumental f-wit.
And more pertinently, why weren't we made aware of it?
Does it show up in testing? How long after? He could prove it if he gives a clean test. Clutching at straws.

Apparently it was Dr Reid that shot the footage. In the Doctor's defence, he was shitfaced at the time*The OtherThommo wrote:We could just follow the Dopers lead - "there are no records to show what was taken", flash a consent form signed by Doc Reid as "A OK", say Hirdy said it was all good (well, he was still under contract to E'dope when it happened!), and then claim Carlisle rang a drug hotline at ASADA, and they said the stuff was fine....no records, though.

We will cop heaps of negative publicity over this.
If we were negotiating any multi $m sponsorship deals then consider them lost.
Expensive price to pay for a d**khead who could well cop an extended WADA suspension as we pay for him.

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
Could not care less about Carlisle doing what he did.
I care about the fact we've been stitched up by Essendon, not so much on the trade front but the timing of the video coming out.
It is 100%, unequivocally, without question a string pulled somewhere by the EFC. They are behind this and are dumping it on us.
We should have the AFL dissolve the deal, Essendon be disallowed from trading, receive our pick 5 back and have sole rights to Carlisle in the PSD.
I still want our "AA" CHB, with or without the coke indulgence.

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
Well thats what worries me - if Jake knew this was out there and didn't tell us beforehand thats a betrayal. But, we don't know that he did know this was out there (ps. Jake get better friends - and delete Snapchat app!). We don't know if St Kilda did know but were told by Jake it was just goofing and the other news services said they weren't even going to bother running it so it just wasn't an issue until ACA did their Bomber mates a favour.markp wrote:*If the footage is legit*Bluthy wrote:The more I think of it, surely he was pranking. I think what will make it blow over is the realisation that even Jake couldn't be so stupid as to send someone footage of himself doing illegal drugs after just going through an incredibly harrowing 3 year drug investigation. Not a great start but maybe another wake up call for him to tick every box from now on.

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
Incredibly damaging to our brand. ST Kilda must stand up and say this is unnaceptable. Should seek AFL support to tear up the trade and contract. Jake is damaged goods contracted/traded under false pretences. Lets get the lawyesr on this overnight and be ready at AFL house at 9 AM.

Don't give a s*** what he does in his private life as long as he helps us win a premiership. It does sound like a setup,it's just too convenient.

Why not turn this around to our favour and release a statement along the lines of " now that Jake is a St Kilda player we expect he will fall into line with the much stronger values of our playing group and cease those behaviours that may have been part of his previous clubs culture"

I share your concerns, but you'd think any sponsor would have the common sense to realise that the footage took place while he was a Bombers player....this in no way reflects on the good culture we've been steadily building since dwarf-gate.Enrico_Misso wrote:We will cop heaps of negative publicity over this.

Must say if this story is legit I want the trade annulled. The info I had re JC a few weeks back was also unsavoury but was not related to this story.
