I don't get this Weller stuff at all. Why is he leaving already. Its only saints boards that think it is happening. I have heard he will finish his contract.
We need a fast midfielder and Freo desperately need a high pick for McCarthy.
I am not saying it will happen - but that is the logic behind it.
if Freo stuff McCarthy up they truly are hopeless.

Carlisle will be conceived soonish as well, we are still hoping McCarthy gets to Freo....you can join the dots!
My guess would be Bolton pulls Dodoro into line before they end up with nothing and Lachie Weller is in play.
There will be a merry go round with pick 8 that goes on a journey but starts and finishes with GWS plus 2 in the second round.
This won't happen.

He will not get a look in next year at Freo, as Ross doesn't play kids and there are 7-8 mids with bigger bodies in front of him and he wants to play with Saints.
If not next year will be the following year.

So he got 3 games this year but wont get a look in next year? I'm not sure about that. My daughter is friends of Mav's girlfriend and she said he is happy at Freo and they are very happy with him. maybe she made it up but I will trust her on this.

Lyon has some serious blind spots with anyone under 23. They delisted Ballard after a very consistent WAFL season. Meanwhile Lyon will stick with his tried and true Hacks (Suban, Clancee Pearce, Ibbotson, Mayne) week in week out.

Fremantle has picks 22, 56 & 74.
It has all of its 2016 picks still available
But you can only trade your 2016 first round pick OR any combination of your later 2016 picks
Put simply Fremantle is short on trade currency.
They may be willing to part with Lachie Weller to get some trading currency for their pursuit of Cam McCarthy.
PIck 5 and their expectedly late 2016 first round pick would be the sort of currency they would need.
We would like some currency too.
Fremantle's pick 22 looks very tempting and their pick 56 = 194 points when added to our own pick 45 = 347 points would trump any bid for Rice from pick 26 onwards even if we have traded away pick 63 = 112 points
Fremantle gave up their 1st and 2nd round picks 16 & 35 to get Harley Bennell from Gold Coast but got 2nd round pick 22 in return.

I like these ideas. I think we can get a win-win with Freo. They have spent five years trying to lure a key fwd so they are crazy if they dont throw the absolute kitchen sink at McCarthy (who is a local boy). I think we can benefit from this.
