Re: Jake Carlisle
Essendon are notoriously poor to deal with and Dodoro for his part has not traded his way to the average list they have now. had to goto to mediation last year with Port.
Play hard ball - Carlisle walks to PSD and nominates an amount which removes the others from the equation, can always front end contracts. Does a Luke Ball and tells everyone else i will not play for you.
Essendon miss out all together. No rush people.
I think get Freeman deal done and structure up with 2 first round picks, Last minute Essendon take 13 or nothing!

Re: Jake Carlisle
Brisbane are angry at the compo they will get for Luey and might match it.
If that happens Essendon might reconsider the supposed Hickey and 24 offer

the potential of 1.2.3.4 is delicious..when it comes to the value of these picks in regards to trades is gold....much more valuable than 13...ps did you get off on reading the responses to your ban ?ripplug66 wrote:The Fireman wrote:So nice to have pick 5...a bit higher would have been nicer.magnifisaint wrote:Wake me up when it's all overripplug66 wrote:It seems a few on here don't have faith in our club. @bomberblitz twitter have been hassling Ameet Bains a tad.
Sending a lot of "5's" his way.
Read some of their Shyte for a while and there is no way you would be trading with them at all.

Re: Jake Carlisle
If we were thinking of trading pick 5 for Carlisle......Instead of trading for pick 5 and giving the Essendon the pick I would rather have Carlisle nominate for the National draft and use pick 5 to get him.......saints lose nothing.....essendon eat dirt.
I would prefer however to do the freo trade....jasons isn't often far off so Lachy Weller and their first pick for pick 5 would be elite trading.
Means we get Weller and Carlile and Freeman........love it

The other day I heard a dons fan putting his case for why essendon 'need' to snag pick 5. This was on SEN talkback and the guy was pleading and sounding hysterical (to a degree). The world would collapse onto the essendon football club if pick 5 wasn't delivered. A day or 2 later I found out they (ess) already have Pick 4 on board.
Yikes another cold sweat moment !

Re: Jake Carlisle
IM getting a little over Mr Carlisle - not to any pick swap deals - its off to the PSD for you
If we dont snag a capital A a-grader in the midfield this year that will hurt any future prospects more than getting JC
My back up plan is to go for Harry McKay (twin of big forward prospect Ben McKay 200cm but has a preference for the backline ) & Mitch Brown late in the draft

PIck 5 = 1,878 pointssaintjake wrote:Superfooty just posted an article on twitter saying Adelaide might be able to save Essendon/Carlisle andhelp get a deal done.
In the article they said that the Saints are currently offering pick 24 and are also willing to do pick 24 and a player.
Superfooty's solution was that Saints trade 5 to Adelaide for 9 and 28.. in which they would on trade pick 9 for Carlisle and Saints end up with 28 to go with 24.
If we currently are only valuing Carlisle at 24... why the hell would we trade 5 to give them 9 and only get back 28. Surely if we did that deal we'd keep 9 and offer them 28 and 24 or something?
Sometimes I'm amazed at the "Experts" and how they get paid for having such terrible suggestions and opinions.
Pick 9 = 1,469 points
Pick 28 = 677 points
Saints win by 268 points
We give Essendon pick 9 = 1,469 points over the top in my book
But if we then say 1,469 - 268 = 1,201 points
We are then valuing Carlisle at pick 13 = 1,212 points we break even.
We probably aren't winning or losing, it would be Adelaide losing and Essendon winning by about 268 points.
We give Collingwood pick 28 for Freeman
We use pick 24 = 785 points in the draft.
But I think if Adelaide did that deal I would hang on to pick 9 thus leaving Essendon and Carlisle to the pre-season draft.
We use 28 for Freeman and use 9 and 24 in the draft.

Re: Jake Carlisle
I like the Lachie Weller idea.
Pick 5 = 1,878 points
Fremantle's first round pick 16 = 1,067 points
Values Lachie Weller at 811 points = pick 23
Lachie Weller was pick 13 last year = 1,212 points
You know you want to do it Ross Lyon.
Don't worry about the numbers or the money, you know they only confuse you.
Just believe me that you are making the right investment for your club.
We then give Essendon pick 16 for Carlisle - take it or see him in the PSD
So Weller and Carlisle for pick 5.
We give pick 24 to Collingwood for Freeman
We use pick 42 and maybe 60 if required for some Rice Bubbles
We end up with
Jake Carlisle
Lachie Weller
Nathan Freeman
Bailey Rice
UPDATE
Curses Fremantle went and traded away pick 16 to Gold Coast to get Harley Bennell
Pick 5 = 1,878 points
Fremantle's first round pick 16 = 1,067 points

Cheated by tanking once they saw they could not make the finals.
Gold Coast seriously how many top 3 picks do they need to put together a team.

They are going backwards. While early picks are great, it is actually a negative when you are getting them by losing players who should be about to bloom.ace wrote: Gold Coast seriously how many top 3 picks do they need to put together a team.

Richmond rising star Ben Lennon is out of contract and (Tigers fans look away now) reports suggest Carlton might be trying to convince the young forward to enter the pre-season draft, where the Blues could snap him up for nothing.
If this happened it would give us a massive advantage in bargaining with Essendon.
