McCartin is supposed to be taller the Riewoldt.
I think someone misread the tape measure.
He looks short when surrounded by other players.
He will not be out marking 198cm full backs.
He will have to beat them with a lead.

Howdy Partner. Giving the tyres a kick on the JAKE I see. Sure is versatile unit. You can park it down back beautifully - has a great spoiler. The way it it drives with aggression you'll definitely gets a lot of marks on it. It also looks good out the front - although it sometimes makes strange whining noises when you do. Works well at heights but solid on the ground.
Now I know what you are thinking "This old bomber ain't worth a first rounder". Well I can tell you it was only driven hard on weekends by a golden haired boy who was often out of the country. Well ok yes he did crash it badly but he's adamant it was someone elses fault even though he was the one driving and hit a brick WADA. What if I told you it had fuel injection. What fuel was injected exactly? Er...lets look at the Dank Motors servicing log book. That's weird, there aren't any entries. Why would people not record what was put in? Very odd.
Yes there may be some suspension issues I'll grant you but I don't think it will be serious. And ok it may be expensive to run for the first few years. And it has broken down a bit I admit. And sure it does look kind of beat down a lot of the time. I admit we haven't looked after it very well here...
Hey, don't walk away. We'll take your ROSS that you are having trouble getting going as a trade in. Please come back...we can do a deal! We need to clear this one quick as its value is dropping every day. Just give us something!!!!

Complicating this plan would be Essendon's threat to take pick four to the same clubs in a bid to strike a similar pick-slide deal and one-up the Saints
OMG are they seriously taking it that far to try and get pick 5, if they keep this up the deal wont have a chance to get done at all.

Essendon got turned down for pick 5 and are already begging for mediation.Scollop wrote:Jake is OOC and wants out. They'll accept whatever deal we give them as long as we're not too ruthless.
If he was a free agent we'd have to worry about a potential matching of contract but they don't even have that to fall back on.
Essendon are not in control with this trade.
That means they know the cards in their hand are a pair of deuces.
They have no bargaining power.
He won't be playing at Essendon next year.
If he goes into the pre season draft they get nothing.
All they have is how high will St Kilda go before we say let him go to Carlton.
They already know they will have to take what they are offered or try for a better deal through mediation.

Re: Jake Carlisle
I'd rather keep pick 15 too... No way would i trade it (if we get it somehow) on a player that:
a) reportedly has a poor attitude
b) demands more money than what his form has demonstrated he is worth
c) hasn't played a very good season for a while
d) has a WADA suspension hanging over his head
e) comes from a poor culture
f) plays in a position that is historically amongst the easiest to fill
And we're supposed to trade our first round pick to get him and a lower pick... Or sacrifice a player ala Ross for him.
I'm sorry but they're dreaming.
Please oh please Saints don't drop the ball here.
Offer your 2nd rounder and take your chances with the PSD.

Who runs it, probably someone connected with the players association. There is no way this guy is worth pick 5 or a Jack Billings. Is it any wonder that they resorted to drugs to try and improve themselves. Seriously deluded people.

I reckon Mediation in this case is where the other clubs chat in Essendon's ear at the trade tables and tell them to get realistic and stop holding the process up for other clubs

Re: Jake Carlisle
Based on their recent history (last couple of years) I have full faith in Bains/Elshaugh to do a deal they're comfortable with or walk away from a deal they feel is not right.
They know far better then me (and probably everybody else on this forum) as to what Carlisle is worth to us and what we would be passing over at whatever DP we give EFC for him.
It's not blind faith on my behalf - merely a recognition that their track record instils confidence in their ability to understand all the ramifications of trade deals.

It wont go to mediation.....
Last year the mediation happened because Ryder was contracted. Carlisle has no association with Essendon after October 31, If the Bombers don't deal, he walks. Player welfare crisis averted.
I'm almost at the point where I reckon we go to the Crows and say we'll do a straight swap of 5 for 9, just so the Bombers don't get it.

Jake Carlisle already out Ess door
KB (SEN) said yesterday T. Wallace pointed out that J.C. hadn't made the Ess. top 10 B & F over the last 4 years. Also clubs wanting to drop off players habitually inflate their supposed value as a tactic to squeeze a better deal back to themselves.
It made me think.
As ess are travelling down the greedy path yet again like the good 'ol days St. Kilda need to sit tight , keep Pick 5 'out of bounds' and aim @ securing a home for Carlisle in the PSD &/or mediation.
Collingwood appearing exactly the same minus one colour (red).
Just hope Carlisle is a half decent KPD 'NOW' - not so interested in previous seasons.

The guy has effectively walked out on the club.
They either get something from us or they get zero for him.
We should give them FA.
No way should we be dealing with these guys 'in good faith'.
