Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
this is an interesting way to present all the draft options- in a year where obviously no one stand out

i had a quick look and seen this, --- Daniel Rioli (16/04/1997, 179cm, 65kg. St Marys/North Ballarat Rebels) cousin of cyril anyone know much about him?saintbrat wrote:this is an interesting way to present all the draft options- in a year where obviously no one stand out

He seems very consistent, I wonder why he never got a go, he's a good size mid too might be worth a late pick or rookie.Con Gorozidis wrote:Jacob Ballard has been de-listed by Freo. Part of Lyon's 'dont play youth' policy.
Might be worth a Rookie place for us. I am willing to bet he lands at an AFL club.

Watched him dominate the match on GF day vs the under 17s to the point where I think he did a mini-Cockatoo. He is explosive, clean, classy and a very very smart footballer. I actually didn't know he was a Rioli until afterwards after I noted his number down and checked. Biggest knock on him would be his size, as he is a very skinny kid.
If he was there in the rookie draft, I would have no hesitation in picking him up - in fact, I'd even consider him in the third or fourth round to be honest if he was available and we had a pick.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Woodward interests me as a low risk rookie while he recovers from an acl. To be fair, he is probably an injury bust, but the guy can play if he got on the park long enough.

There are a couple of later guys I would love to get. Kieran Lovell is a little gun, he should fall between 15 and 25 but looks like a Jack Steven type. Stephen Tahana as a late pick, a bit Shane Savage like.

This is Ross Lyon we are talking about. He prefers to go with the same hacks week in week out (De Boer, Duffield, Suban, Clancee Pearce)st.rick wrote:He seems very consistent, I wonder why he never got a go, he's a good size mid too might be worth a late pick or rookie.Con Gorozidis wrote:Jacob Ballard has been de-listed by Freo. Pyke going to retire tonight from the Swans
Longer/Hickey to Sydney for their first pick.
Sydney's first pick for Carlisle
Carlisle to be second ruckman next year, not Bruce.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
certainly several teams are in the market for a ruck...saintjake wrote:Pyke going to retire tonight from the Swans

Hale retired.. i guess Hawks have Ceglar... but..
Sydney
Bumbers
Dogs
Frementle? (is Sandi going around again?)
Gold Coast? It seems Smith is going to Geelong?
If Leunberger goes somewhere.. then Brisy as well
Hickey may see opportunity somewhere in there.. I think he will test the water, from what is been posted
Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
- Trade Hickey/Longer for a first round pick (many teams looking for a Ruckman)
- Use the pick we receive for either Hickey or Longer for Carlisle
- Second or Third rounder for Freeman
- Pick 5 and next years second rounder (or player) for Treloar
Any realistic chance?

I doubt Longer will be traded, Hickey is sounding like a possibility.saintjake wrote:- Trade Hickey/Longer for a first round pick (many teams looking for a Ruckman)

and all whispers are saying Treloar isn't on the table.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Rumor floating around that Brisbane doesn't want to trade Aish to Collingwood and would prefer any other club.
Tony Shehan has since come out with this
"I hear there is conflict inside the Aish household"
Brizzy not happy with the pies?

Probably still not happy that Buckley went to the Pies! Otherwise Brisbane could be annoyed that Balme has been giving them a bit of curry over their handling of the Aish situation.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Sounds plausible. If we end up with Carlisle, Freeman and Mathieson/Treloar I think we have done well. Treloar would be unbelievable.saintjake wrote:Pyke going to retire tonight from the Swans

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
it smacks of GWS trying to leverage a better deal out of Pies who are being arseholes as usual re trading. He suddenly doesn't want to go to Pies? Rubbish.jaxons wrote:No chance Treloar to Saints

Why is this the case? Has something been said or are they asking more than we would be willing to give up?jaxons wrote:No chance Treloar to Saints

Aish is the word I just got.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
