It won't be for one second rounder. They'll try & move on their second & the picks they get for Yarran & Henderson for those players.BigMart wrote:How the hell have Carlton cherry picked

So you're saying Jake as an AFL player now is worth a top 5 pick!?ripplug66 wrote:uptheboys wrote:Surely what pick a player was drafted 4 years ago shouldn't have an impact on his value now?prwilkinson wrote:Ahh... From what the club has been saying for 2+ years is that they want as many 1st round picks as possible. Pick 5, Carlisle and Freeman gives us another 3 first round players into the club.
Fyffe should be an easy pick up then. I worry about Watts getting the number one pick if he is traded. Of course it means nothing at all after about a year or two.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Look, its not a bad scenario.
But its only a win if both the players are best 22 each week bar injury.
Would rather keep a first round pick
But
If it's the best deal you can do you then so be it.

Lets be honest. Carlton have become the GWS Reserves Side (Remember Jaksch and Whiley). None of these guys are GWS first 22.BigMart wrote:How the hell have Carlton cherry picked

A far cry from the 80s when guys who couldn't get a game at Carlton went to other clubs to get games.

Other clubs still in Treloar frame. Saints and Blues. Tigers no. Pies favourites but not across line

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
To get Carlie, Freeman and Treloar.
Would need to give up Rnd 1 and 2 this year and round 1 next year.
Reality is Treloar will get to Collingwood.
I think we will struggle to keep 5 unless someone we don't expect will be traded as part of the deal - ala Stanley last year, McEvoy 2 years ago.

Forget Treloar and that comes from a well connected Saints employee 10 minutes ago.

Tend to think you are right. I have tried a million combinations in my head and I cant find a way to get Treloar, Carlisle and Freeman. Just not possible.older saint wrote:To get Carlie, Freeman and Treloar.

Ill be very happy if we managed to get Mathieson, Carlisle and Freeman. But even to do that we will need to lose a quality player.
Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Well it wont be Aish, he's nominated the pies
THE BRISBANE Lions have no intention of trading James Aish despite the midfielder's declaration he wants to play for Collingwood.
After a bizarre and drawn-out process, the 19-year-old finally announced on Thursday – 33 days after the Lions' season ended – that he wanted to become a Magpie.
But the Lions are prepared to play hard ball on the 2013 No.7 NAB AFL Draft selection and force him back into the draft if he's determined to leave.

We're in for treloar!!
Get it done for pick 5 and then it's truly off the table for Carlisle
2nd rounder or player for jake
3rd rounder or player for freeman

If we keep pick 5, do we go Rhys Mathieson, Darcy Parish or Jacob Hopper?

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
It seems the Saints are talking to another high profile player, if its not Treloar then who is it?
Josh Kelly, Liam Sumner GWS,
Jaeger OMeara GCS,
Jed Anderson Hawks,
Weller Freo,
Ruckman Smith, Leuenberger, Gorrindge, Lycett.....

Lethallee said Aish to the draft
SEN quoted Lethallee as declaring Aish would be sent to the draft if he keeps harping on about the pies.Playon wrote:Well it wont be Aish, he's nominated the pies

Would he land at carlton then?
Re: Lethallee said Aish to the draft
Yep, if it happens I'd imagine they'd snap him up pretty quickly, Offer him something to go in the PSD.the dome wrote:SEN quoted Lethallee as declaring Aish would be sent to the draft if he keeps harping on about the pies.Playon wrote:Well it wont be Aish, he's nominated the pies

Yeah, I'll spew as well if we give up pick 5 for carlile- likely to get a lengthy drug suspension - and not even in the Bummers top 10 B&F, and he seems like a bit of a sook.....derby Street wrote:I will spew up if we give pick 5 for carlisle no matter how it is set - up. Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Jacob Ballard has been de-listed by Freo. Part of Lyon's 'dont play youth' policy.
Might be worth a Rookie place for us. I am willing to bet he lands at an AFL club.
