We may trade it for Carlisle + their second round[Essendon] but of course we would had to part ways with a possible talent
I know we are after A grade mids, so who do we go for?

If Collingwood cannot entice GWS to trade for Treloar - surely Pick 5 would sit better with GWs than Collingwoods 7 and we would certainly be able to match their 2nd rounder next year!

I think he will slide Con. Big unit who played a lot of college footy in SA so physically outmuscled his oppo regularly. His old man a bigger unit so maybe still some growing . Got a little bit of mongrel in him giving out cheap hits in close when the ump is unsighted . Question mark on his tank - but like Paddy played most of his junior footy as a stay at home forward so played a bit of mid field this year. Don't know him personally but have seen him play. Maybe too short for KPF in AFL. Strong marking hands - could make a very handy 3rd tall forward option.

"ST KILDA has ruled out trading its prized No. 5 draft pick in a straight swap with Essendon to secure wantaway swingman Jake Carlisle.

Carlisle officially nominated the Saints as his preferred new home on Thursday morning but there is much to be played out at the trade table before he dons the red, white and black.

Saints list manager Ameet Bains says offering pick No. 5 would be “excessive” despite the Bombers already declaring that is their desired compensation.

“Our view is that pick five is excessive. We won’t be trading pick five,” Bains told the Herald Sun.

“Adrian (Dodoro, Essendon list manager) has publicly stated that Essendon are keen on pick five.

“But we will look to get a deal done a different way.”

Of coarse essendon are 'putting it out there that they want Pick 5 - who wouldn't?
I have to say they have already done well out of us Saints with their acquisition of BJ. Can't remember if we got anything in return. From our point of view we have already collectively gone through our own shared club pain (incl. losing Bj, Dal, McEvoy). Letting Pick 5 slide would be a bridge too far. What I heard in Ameets' voice was that Pick 5 would remain red,black & white.

Wouldn't take much notice of some of the posters here champ as they just got rid of one of the biggest pests..
Think Rhys Mathieson would be great but like Darcy Parish but think he might go before our pick.

Think Rhys Mathieson would be great but like Darcy Parish but think he might go before our pick.

I reckon you can put a line through Schache and Weitering and probably Parish. I think Francis is probably in that top 4 but the gold coast have guys like Kade K etc who can play that rebound defensive role so might jump on a guy like Curnow but then we need to hope Essendon want to jump early on someone like Weiderman, Balic or even a KPD in Collins. All the talk is we want Mathieson though.
