Ok how about a look at players from other clubs (call them rejects, trade bait or whatever clubs regarded them not important enough to keep) that were given the boot and ended up very servicable for us.
My favourite one I remember and I think some arses must have got kicked for at Carlton was Peter McConville.

I remember a game at the G when Kenny and Nicky Winmar absolutely blitzed Melbourne, and that was in the late 80s when Melbourne were on fire.
We got Stewie Loewe from Hawthorn technically - that was a pretty good pickup. Lazar Vidovic from North.

Milne was an Essendon reject as was Max Crow who was pretty handy.
Tim Pekin came from Fitzroy.
WOW Jones, Craig O'Brien, Russell Morris, Kenny Sheldon there have been plenty over the years.
There was also Silvio Foshicini and Paul Morwood but it may be a little rich to call them rejects.

Matthew Young was a fantastic player through the mid 90s. We really missed him in the '97 Grand Final.

Jason Heatley and Rod Keogh both had a big impact when they were at their peak for us too.

you wouldn't count hamill and g-train as rejects though, they were lured.
and hawthorn did better out of guerra than we did...
