New AFL tribunal rule to promote "fairness"

Post: # 1582539Post Enrico_Misso »

The proposal is that should a player be suspended by the tribunal the player now has an option to change his name by deed poll.
In turn his club will be able to register him under his new name and because no suspension exists under that name the player will be eligible for selection as of the re-registration date.

Not normally one to buck authority and reckon Plugger adds lots to this forum,
HOWEVER the way the "banning" and renaming occurred is the most ridiculous thing I have encountered in a long time!

Then come out and say it Enrico. Don't use another reason for you not wanting me here. And come out and say me Steve, has mental problems as you said of P66. This will be my last post on this topic.

I don't think I should have been permanently banned but once I was I certainly should not be able to come back on but it was said I could so I did. I will be changing how I post so maybe don't put me on ignore and read what I write first. If you do think I am breaking the rules then report the post. I must say that some of the personal things written about P66 who is actually a real person, were pretty ordinary but all that showed me is some people take things way to seriously to get upset about how someone posts.

I will say one thing though and that is I do not hate anyone on here, matter of fact I don't hate anything, I don't show any signs of racism and considering its a Saints forum I try to stick up for our players and club nearly almost all the time. Do others do that considering we are here for our great club.

Anyway I plead with everyone to give me a chance. That is all I can ask.

I love youse all. And I am at least not pretending to be someone else. I am being straight up.

Well argued and let's hope the rest of us can do likewise.

If P66 says he is going to try and post differently under his new name I think we should at least give him a chance.

If he doesn't it won't be long until he's given the arse again... To harp on about it now and make it a bigger issue than it needs to be will just create a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I think Bfusa made the wrong call keeping the door open for a banned user to simply make a new account but he painted himself into a corner a bit and when people latched onto it he had no choice but to stand his ground... This will be the test for the system, if Plug returns to his old ways I don't think we'll see the same leniency shown again.

Plugg, now that you're back I hope you do genuinely try to change your ways. It won't take a lot, most people's issues with you are around not so much about what you say but the frequency with which you post it. Try and control yourself a bit and I don't think you'll have any issues.

I doubt you'll care much about my opinion but just know this is how the majority of people felt, you might think I'm a tool but keep in mind your constant attacking of other people's opinions may turn away people whose opinion you do respect and whose contributions you do value.

... just like how we ended up in this position of another unfair banning
I love irony.
Good job.

Just to be clear !!!
... that Captains Call was instigated for another poster , earlier this year.

Its not some special rule just made up for Plugger.
... it was a special rule actually made up for another.

Aaah I just found this “lost” thread hidden in the Admin forum – a place I don’t think I have ever posted in!
Can’t understand why it was moved or why it doesn’t at least show up on the main page with that funny arrow thingy to indicate it has been moved like the “Bye All” thread?

Plugger,
I read your comments.
I am happy to document directly to you my issues with your "Style".
As I posted in that other moved thread I think you have been a big negative influence on this site in recent years.
I feel that you ruin almost every potentially interesting thread with your (deliberately?) contrarian positions, quoting people out of context, bringing up old battles etc. etc. etc. so the thread is derailed into yet another series of abusive posts.
I feel that your style is totally disrespectful of other posters as you invariably attack them personally rather than criticising their opinions.
And I feel that this site is nowhere near as vibrant and interesting as it was years ago because many good posters have left or post less frequently because your dominance and aggressive style has driven them away.
Even with the ignore function you still severely reduce my interest and enjoyment of this site.
That is my opinion.

My style is to criticise (or support) other people’s opinions (and occasionally be a bit provocative) but to NEVER be personally critical of another poster.
Though I do think I once in exasperation after a series of posts described you as totally innumerate (or similar) when you refused to accept the self evident truth that with more teams in the competition the chances of winning it reduces! (Presumably you were just amusing yourself by being contrarian again?).
That was also before I discovered the ignore option.

Obviously my post the other day in support of your expulsion broke my rule of not being personally abusive, but a “lifetime” ban on a poster for the way they post is by definition a personal issue and to support the ban I needed to document my issues with your style.
I do think that forty thousand+ posts in a ridiculously short time span and in such a dominating style does indicate to me you have some issues.

But I note your comments above.
Perhaps it has all just been a bit of a game for you and now you are realising the negative impact you have on the site and many posters.
I note your promise to change your style.
I also note your plea to be given another chance.

Not totally sure if a leopard can change it’s spots but I welcome your desire to turn over a new leaf and adopt a new style of posting (presumably LESS contrarian and LESS aggressive and LESS domineering!!).

So I tentatively welcome you back, I don’t have the “new” Plugger on ignore, and I look forward to your revamped contributions.

Regards,
“Enrico”.
