Aish still a possibility? Apparently Collingwood still haven't spoken to him yet. which I find hard to believe.
And still no word that he wants to be traded.

Anyone heard anything about Lonie being a possible trade bait? Hope its not true
Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
No inside info but I am trying to keep across all the trade discussion from the various forums and I have never heard Lonie's name mentioned.Playon wrote:Anyone heard anything about Lonie being a possible trade bait? Hope its not true
At best he may have been mentioned by an opposition poster as part of a proposed trade.
Seriously unlikely any of our young up-n-coming kids will be traded.

I'd like to think that's right up there with the Billings to the Injectors supposition.Playon wrote:Anyone heard anything about Lonie being a possible trade bait? Hope its not true
Which upset my kids for days.
I'd like to think there are no Jacks on the poker table. All 5 are required players on my book.

Richo is on record as saying he nearly choked on his Weeties when he heard the Billings "rumour".SemperFidelis wrote:I'd like to think that's right up there with the Billings to the Injectors supposition.Playon wrote:Anyone heard anything about Lonie being a possible trade bait? Hope its not true

Given how the coach has spoken about Lonie since the kid arrived at Seaford, I imagine another cereal mishap would be on the cards if this one was to get a run.

What's with our coaches and their breakfast cereals.busso mick wrote:Would that become a serial cereal mishap?Dr Spaceman wrote:Richo is on record as saying he nearly choked on his Weeties when he heard the Billings "rumour".SemperFidelis wrote:I'd like to think that's right up there with the Billings to the Injectors supposition.Playon wrote:Anyone heard anything about Lonie being a possible trade bait? First we had 'Cornflakes' Thomas............. what did GT eat for breakfast? Was it pressure?
Now it's Richo choking on his Weeties.
No doubt Patrick Smith will pick up on this trend............ after all it was Smith that gave GT the nickname of 'Cornflakes, so look out Richo, Patrick Smith will be onto you.
Both good development coaches......... maybe it's in the cereals
Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
I think it was just a case of SEN reading the online forums
Apparently SEN were talking about a possible popular player being used in the Carlisle trade (as rumored to happen) and came to the conclusion that it may be Lonie
I didnt hear the broadcast myself, I wouldn't like that trade to happen, Still there is still the rumor of a popular player involved,
Starting to think we should wash our hands of this deal and move on. Connors and Bombers not a great combo. Connors seems to be playing everyone

You are confused, you can trade your first round pick this year and next years first round pick.saynta wrote:maybe, but I don't think you can trade away first round picks in two consecutive years.Playon wrote:I think its along the lines of that you have to use 2 first rounders in a 4 year periodsaynta wrote:I don't think the rules permit you trading away two consecutive future years first rounders unless one of them is the current year. Same applies next year.
You can't trade more than one years pick in the future.

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Please saints don't trade this year's and next year first round draft picks for anyone. That's a big price to pay for a club that is supposed to be rebuilding from the ground up.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

I get the feeling we'll need to part with pick 5 so I'm happy to miss out on him & go to the draft.jaxons wrote:We are in it up to our eyeballs but not over the line yet.Old Mate wrote:So.... Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Really? If someone told you before the draft that (without mentioning names) you would be able to get a ready to go, 10 year KPD, with very solid claims of AA potential with your pick 5, would you not jump at it? There seems to be some sort of mysticism attached to draft picks that I don't understand. They are to get good players to your club. Whether that is by virtue of using them in the draft, or trading them to other teams, does not matter.Old Mate wrote:

If our list managers have evaluated this years draft and reckon it's very weak, surely their job is to get the best value return for our picks, irrelevant if that means trading them? The job is to always get maximum worth for every pick.....

No. More like Carlisl decising where he will go. He stil wants Carlton but they wont budge on a 3 year deal.Old Mate wrote:I get the feeling we'll need to part with pick 5 so I'm happy to miss out on him & go to the draft.jaxons wrote:We are in it up to our eyeballs but not over the line yet.Old Mate wrote:So.... Bulldogs about to offer a five year deal, but cant match the Saints 5 year deal.
Carlilse is just waiting. No hurry for him to decide.
If he nominates us, then we deal with Essendon and it wont be #5. Not worth it.
If Essendon dont come to the party,Carlilse can choose PSD. If that happens we can either front load the contract or allow Carlton to have him.
Thats my favourite outcome. Essendon get SFA, Carlton get a bloke who will be 30 before they are a flag contender and Carlisle only gets three years.
We have 650-700k to throw at another player
You are garbage - Enough said
