Dog Sh*t journalism. Purely an opinion piece with no substance. No way Saints will trade Billings

Essendon start with asking for the ridiculous, then negotiate from there. Carlile isn't a must get, great if the price is right, but otherwise won't lose sleep over him.

sometime i think people get caught up in the 'we must win this chase' and go overboard in exaggerating player abilities, a decent Essendon mate describe Carlisle like this: 'expensive and unproven'
I think thats correct - there is no way id pay overs for him.

Re: Jack Billings mentioned in Carlile trade
So I'm guessing any deal would look like
Out Billings
In Carlile, essendons first pick this year and next year.
Who's in?

Sounds like typical Essendon being difficult to trade with.

Re: Jack Billings mentioned in Carlile trade
There's only one club to blame over the Lovett trade, and it's not the bombers. It's any easy line to to throw out there. A lot easier to blame Essendon than fess up that we made a horrible decision. Please don't bring up references from Hird and Sheedy either. WE made the decision.supersaints wrote:The bombers are a complete joke... Essendon knew they were selling us a pup, now that came from an ex committee members mouth at a Xmas BBQ.... so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.. he had great delight in saying they stitched us up... Arrogant as I said..

Re: Jack Billings mentioned in Carlile trade
The Herald Sun article says Billings dad, Graeme, is a well-connected Bomber supporter. Let's hope this won't be a problem.
IMO it would be a disastrous trade for us because the kid has shown what a match-winner he can be. As someone else said, that is a rare commodity.
Also we have some good key-position players coming through in Bruce, Goddard and hopefully McCartin. Plus Tom Lee and Delaney are still on the list.
We need more midfield class, pace and polish. Not less.
