Re: VFL Qualifying Final- Sandringham Vs Williamstown- strea
Been a tough scrappy game
Big breeze to the Saunders end
Sandy don't have a big forward today n its hurt them a bit... They kept kicking it forward to contests n getting out played until Sippa realised he could just ping them from 60m.
It's been hard to tell the players apart because of how scrappy its been
I think Sippa has been good and Acres lively
Eli has tried hard but not been that effective
Saad falls over again and again at this level too
Hickey has battled and not had much influence
Pierce has struggled
That's about it

Pretty much like the seniors, lots of effort and no reward. Nearly 10 goals now

We dominated for a patch but TDL missed several shots to apply score board pressure
Hickey has had a shocker
Williamstown got a run on late n look to have put the game out of reach

WTF is wrong with Sandy. Nail biters every week. They always concede the first half.....dragit wrote:Great goal by Hickey, 8 points down. suck one freebird.

Re: VFL Qualifying Final- Sandringham Vs Williamstown- strea
Strong finish by the Zebras... Williamstown kicked 5 goals to 0 in the first n Sandy got 5 goals to 2 in the second... That was the difference.
They started the third quarter strongly n had all the play before 2 very gettable misses from TDL ended with a swing in momentum n Williamstown piled on 4 late goals.
Lack of a big man up forward hurt.
Delaney was ineffective and Hickey finished his garbage down with a strong last quarter.
Saunders had a ripping last quarter n nearly swung the game by himself. Kicked a great goal in the last.
Sippa was dangerous and I liked his game. Is such a good kick.
Eli tried hard n did a few good things.
Didn't see Shenton much.
Pierce was quite good late too. Presented well, took a few good marks n looked dangerous. Rucked well too. If he gets some size on him I think he will become quite good quite quickly. He has a good football brain. I'd keep him personally

Forward would be assisted by Holmsey coming back in and releasing Pierce and Hickey

Re: VFL Qualifying Final- Sandringham Vs Williamstown- revie
Go the CJ - I was and are still of the opinion that he should have stayed on the list - cue the cries of not the future - but he is still good & will do well in awards honours this year.
Sipposs is pulling the finger out big time to stay in the picture
I still believe in Acres and what he brings to the table - confidence ? body ? Temperment ? what is it that is holding him from busting out?
Hickey was obviously used "defensively" with the wind in mind until the last - still looms as a tall on our list that can mark AND kick goals
Thanks all for reports & photos
For those that know better - will that mean Sandringham will field the BEST full strength team next week?

No. They will keep to the silly deal we agreed with.

Re: VFL Qualifying Final- Sandringham Vs Williamstown- revie
The highlight of the first quarter for me, was the guy behind me in the grandstand giving an umpire one almighty spray (quote) "have you got money on Williamstown? you fluorescent flog!"
It brought a smile to my dial.

St Kilda forever ( God help me)
