thought Murdoch showed a bit this week with his kicking. Could have had a second goal as he marked it 40 out directly in front but schneids tried for a cheap handball but missed.

worth another year imho.

With Matt Finnis as CEO I can't see us delisting anyone who is contracted for next year, they might well be traded tho. So I think our de listings will be confirmed to those players who don't have a contract for next year. If the info on the contracts thread is correct then these are the players with the most to fear:
2015
Sam Fisher - 2015
Sam Gilbert 2015
Arryn Siposs 2015
Farren Ray assumption
Hickey- 2015
Savage 2015
Tom Simpkin 2015
Pierce 2015
White 2015
Minchington 2015
Markworth 2015

To me the first in line would be Siposs, Simpkin & White. Followed by Markworth, Minchington & Ray. I think Pierce wil be kept although he might be offered a rookie spot, possibly depending on whether they want to upgrade Holmes or whether they just wait for a LTI to upgrade him then if desired.

Gilbert and Hickey have both just signed 2 year contract extensions.
Markworth would have to be close to being cut from the list; same with White and maybe Simpkin.

Maybe Simpkin? Surely Simpkin would have to be one of the most likly to be cut?

Too small for a key defender, and we have many players who can play on the back flanks.

Underrated post

Not good at guessing delistings & retirements much - I would never have tipped out Mark Hutchings.

Don't think anyone contracted for 2016 will be delisted - could still be traded though. That leaves delistings to come from uncontracted players not getting a game. Also maybe 1 or 2 older players, not Fisher he will get I more year IMO

Wish they could somehow retain Siposs - even on the Rookie list. Still I know they have to make room, really need min 4 picks in the ND plus 2 in the Rookie Draft. Not including trades and rookie upgrades of course.

my gut feel is ...
we will see Ray retire on Saturday
White Siposs Simpkin will be delisted

Schnides Payne and Saad will be off the rookie list

Markworth will get a rookie spot with Sinclair to be upgraded

so that will give us 3 picks in the draft and one rookie upgrade
then three pick in the rookie draft

that gives us three picks in the draft

I thought Ray was offered another contract? Payne is going pretty well in the VFL. Markworth probably gets cut too along with the ones you mentioned off the senior list

Payne is still 18. He turns 19 tomorrow. Should get another year?

my apologies I mistook Payne... for some reason I though he had been on the rookie list for two years...

Schneider

Simpkin

Siposs

Markworth

White

Though I don't think they'll get delisted this year I really can't see any of Saunders, Templeton, Murdoch, Curren & Pierce making it at this rate. Nathan Wright needs to hit his straps next year too.

I don't see the point of Ray going another year, but the club sounds like it will give one more.

Do you think we will only want 3 draft picks?

I guess 4, depending on trades...

If we upgrade Holmes then surely we delist pierce? Or trade longer?

No point having 4 average ruckmen on the main list.

Holmes goes back to being a rookie

Holmes - Is not up to it. He doesn't really win the hit outs and is absolutely shite around the ground.

Ray - His experience can be covered by someone else with players such as 8cres and D-Mac easily covering his output.

Schnieder has gone

Saad - Not up to AFL level

Simpkin - Too small for a key back and not fast enough for a running back

White - Showed nothing this year - Gone

Saunders - Doesn't offer much

Murdoch - Doesn't offer much

Take your pick out of those for how many draft picks you want. Having the above players on our list does not strengthen it.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Yes of course, I was forgetting Schnieder is only on the rookie list too...

Pending on trades - Saunders or Ray would be my choice for an extra spot.

I like Josh, but we just have way too many players who are poor by foot... No deal in today's footy.

How many years do we keep Pierce on the list? I hardly see the point in recruiting 18 year old ruckmen, they're usually delisted before you know if they are any good.

Totally agree. The days of 18 year old ruckman are close to over unless they are complete stars. Even the days of KP bigs at a top pick could be close to very unless they can get up and down the ground.

Just ask Hawthorn.

At the moment Holmes doesn't have a clue. He needs a couple of years of footy in him. (VFL)
Pierce won't get delisted

White and Simpkin gone, along with Siposs or Markworth.
Ray wants two years, will be traded if someone offer him that.

Schneider and Saad gone from rookie list and Sinclair upgraded.

Pierce and Siposs or Markworth to the rookie list.

Gives us four or five draft picks and one or two rookie picks

I suspect Pierce will have overtaken Holmes in the pecking order come round 1 2016.

Even if so he'll still have two guys in front of him, may as well put him down to the rookie list.
