I would like to see Simpkin, he has that hard edge good defenders have, looked good In The video from last week. can he do the same on the big stage, well we must find out.

I think Simpkin has suffered due to the surprising longevity of Dempster and Fisher. If those guys were set to retire at the end of the season I suspect Tom would get another contract, but since they look like going on we've probably seen the last of Simpkin. It's a shame; his presence makes his teammates stand taller and attack the contest harder. Not sure. He was rested a fortnight ago and played for Sandy last week. I don't like the dropping of Membrey. I see him as a big part of our future and needing some settled time in the seniors.
I also completely don't understand the selection of Simpkin. Surely it isn't just consolation for a year of VFL? Does it mean he's still in the mix for next year?
