I'm not too fussed, but I think it might help the oppo forum more than it would harm the thread.

And if you are going to have an oppo forum, it is technically where the thread belongs.

With the majority of posts by a carlton supporter.

On a Saints forum.

It's not about Essendon.

That's naive.

Its not about the Saints that for sure and I think its called essendope.

Don't you people realise that InaRush is "trying to protect the game's interests, and more to the point, the international reputation of Australian sport" all by himself (with some help from some tot). Sheesh!!

Absolutely goddamn right.

Are there questionable posts? Sure. There are on every thread.

Still amazed that some folk can get so worked up about this. But that's social conditioning for you.

Could say that about any thread not on the Saints. Rules are followed when it suits and not when it doesn't. The rule says it shouldn't be on this forum.

If this forum was really busy it would make sense to have seperate sections for different subject matter, but lets be honest this isn't a particurarily active forum.

I'm just a St Kilda fan who uses this forum to keep up to date with matters of interest (for St Kilda fans). And I'm a bit lazy, and it suits me to have all subjects of interest in the same place.

So I vote to leave the Essendope thread alone, furthermore I'd be OK to broarden the scope of the subject matter on this forum.

Just saying.

I actually agree with your last line but if certain threads are moved because they have nothing to do with us then the Essendon one should be as well but I would rather what you suggested especially when the season ends. Polls like who will win the brownlow or who is the best player in the AFL should be on the main forum when we finish playing next week.

USELESS FACT: The WADA case against Essendon (in Sydney as well) is exactly 10 years to the day that Australia qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Why then did you start a thread about Hird's sacking on this forum?

This thread started on the main forum and should be allowed to peter out there, hopefully after WADA imposes
sanctions early next year.

I shouldn't have. I deserve a warning for that. Hopefully the sanctions are even earlier so footy returns to normal but I'm sure there are some on here who never want it back to normal.

If it hasn't been moved in 2 years then why move it now?

And this forum and Facebook is the only way I get news as I don't watch TV

It was moved after someone reported it as not being relevant to the Saints, then it was moved back after people complained.

Personally I don't think it belongs here, I rarely visit and when I do I find its full of strange people who don't normally post on the Saints forum and barrack for whoever.

If it does move to the opposition forum, I don't know why people get so upset. It's still there, you can bookmark it. It's not like it gets deleted.

At the time there were also issues around new members being able to sign up, an therefore not being able to access the general forum, IIRC

No, I'm receiving an education with this whole thread that has helped me stand up to the dismissive Essendon supporters and have been able to show I know more about Essendon and it's goings on more than the average pig ignorant Essendon supporter.

Keep up the good work fellow posters and I'll keep hitting that "Friend or Foe" button.

If the thread is moved to the other forum you can still post about Rupert Murdoch, real estate deals and how the PBS is funded as much as you like.

You'll just have less of an audience.
Which seems to have hit a nerve.
Not trying to shut it down just limit the audience!!
Your handlers must be feeling the heat?

I got a call from Rupert.

He said he was feeling threatened by Rushies work.
Said all that cutting and pasting was doing his head in.

He had to hire a massive computer to keep track of all the threads and analyse the data, waffle and dribble, but he finally got an answer.

The term is 'drivel', not dribble.

The real question should be why do we have an Opposition Forum. There are threads there that haven't been touched since May. MAY.

If it's footy-related then it's Saints-related. Make the main forum the one-stop shop.

I would think dribble is a perfect description.
