Dominating? He's kicked 25 in 13 games, about 2 goals a game. Averaging less than 12 touches. I wouldn't call that dominating.lewdogs wrote:Saad has been dominating in the VFL so I don't really understand why we'd delist him.

He has played well at VFL level but has looked horrible at AFL level after about two-thirds of the way through his first season.bergholt wrote:Dominating? I think he has found his level at VFL and will continue to have a good career there along with TDL.
He just doesn't quite have enough about him for the next step up.

Retire
Ray
Delist
Siposs
White
Simpkin
Curran
Pierce
Retire Rookie
Schneider
Delist rookie
Saad
Upgrade rookie
Holmes
Sinclair
Pierce to the rookie list
That leaves us with 4 picks in the draft. Obviously trades will change that.
I tend to agree with most of those choices by plugger with maybe Saunders in for Curran.

I'm not sure why Ray would retire. He missed a fair chunk of the season with his hammy and he is struggling a bit now for fitness because of it. Given a full crack at a pre-season he'll be a handy asset to have next season. Shouldn't play every game but has to be reataied to cover injuries at the very least.
Siposs and White are in real danger...especially the latter as he only had a one year contract.
I don't think Rookies are 2 years but I could be wrong. They certainly weren't when Mark Hutchins was delisted.

3 years maximum. Was 2 years. Rookies are a bit confusing. I think if another clubs wants one of your rookies they must trade for them unless of course we delist them even though it is a promotion to the main list. There are better people on here who know this stuff.

Rookie. I'm sure he will get another year.

1st year on rookie list, key position. would be pretty strange if they delisted him.

Re: Guess the delistings
All year I have been saying Chips should retire but after Saturday I have changed my mind. Could go one more year.
Probably the end of the road for Faz though. Was a great servant for us. Courageous and reliable.
Also Schneider had a career he should be very proud of. MIght have maybe gone on again next year but all of a sudden we have an embarrassment of riches in the small fwd department so that was that for him.

I agree with the op.
I would prefer to keep White though but think he may be gone. Maybe we could off load White and our second pick to Freo for their first pick.

Re: Guess the delistings
This crossed my mind as well. I dont think Freo are that silly. Rumour is they are into Charlie Dixon and Jay Shulz. Shame for them as they need one of those guys right now - next year might be too late.Goose is king wrote:I agree with the op.

But maybe White plus our pick 59 for Freos pick 53 might be more realistic.

I agree with this list, except for Fisher as we can't afford to let him go and his form has been quite solid.saint6709 wrote:I would see as delist or retiring ( irrespective of current contracts)

I also think TC is in trouble, Shents will survive the cull this year.

Re: Guess the delistings
We need another strong backman, and more class and skill in the midfield, so to make that recruiting happen I see some medium size players who can't crack a regular senior game, as having to go off the list. I don't want to see older players like Schultz recruited- I would rather give White every chance to develop as a forward if possible

White has been carrying a bad injury all year I/m told.
Never had a real chance.

Re: Guess the delistings
Retire - Schneider (r), Ray
Delist - Siposs, White, Shenton, Markworth, Pierce
Elevate - Holmes, Sinclair
This will leave 4 Primary spots & 2 rookie spots.
Only thing saving Curren, Saunders & Murdoch is they are contracted.

Unfortunately they are worth nothing to any other club.

Not bad, considering Milney only averaged just over 2 goals per game as a small forward.bergholt wrote:Dominating? He's kicked 25 in 13 games, about 2 goals a game. Averaging less than 12 touches. Saady isn't as good as him, and it was for Sandy, but I would still give him another year.
