Re: Is history repeating itself
First, great post. For me the main difference is I dont think the top end is there yet (more than happy to be proved wrong), but what i do think we have in spades is a good depth of solid performers. I think guys like Newnes, Wright, Ross, Templeton, Hickey, Longer, Membrey, Weller (although any could become A grade) are really solid players that give us a better base of young talent than we had in the early/mid 2000s. THen if the guys mentioned above as comparisons to Roo, DAl et al. come good plus add in another couple of draftees then we might be looking pretty good. So I guess, a broader pyramid with a smaller tip...

Re: Is history repeating itself
we don't really know if the top end talent is there or not really ... back in the day the prospect of Harvey not running through the middle was terrifying but along came Lenny when lenny retired it was a scary thought on how we could survive or win any contest with out him leading the midfield charge but up stepped Weller Savage Dunstan ... theres no limit on what these kids could become ... I for one cant wait to see the next star put his hand up and lead our teamLong Term Injury wrote:First, great post.
