AFL.com.au understands St Kilda, Essendon and Fremantle have expressed interest in Brown, with recruiters from several clubs keeping a watchful eye on his progress.

After playing his final game for the Cats in the 2014 semi-final, Brown joined St Kilda affiliate Sandringham and has impressed both as a key forward and back in 2015.

Nooooo.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2 ... o-st-kilda.
The strategic view under Bains is realistic and requires a couple of years of pain; hence Bains doesn’t foresee drafting any high-end free agents as a priority. “There’s no point bringing these high-priced free agents that will help us get from 13th to 10th to eighth, as opposed to taking us from eighth to sixth to first,” he says, his mind quite clearly on taking St Kilda right back to the top in the not-too-distant future.

IF THE 2015 DRAFT WAS TODAY

Post: # 1568020Post the dome »

If we had pick # 6 on National draft day would H.Balic whet the appetite or would most of us Sainters be wishing for Parish or another as our prefered bet?

I like Balic but pick maybe a fraction to early. may depend how he tests. I know nothing about any other players though.

It seems the inside word is that we are probably looking at Parish, Mathieson, Tucker or Francis - preference probably for Parish given he is both inside/outside with great skills and an accumulator

Parish maybe gone by pick 6 if we finish 13th but the other 3 would be great pick ups regardless given their skill sets

Some say Balic is too slow (pace wise) but then others liken him to Pendlebury as it seems he always has plenty of time when he has the ball

Love this idea from The Cavalry on Big Footy!!

Just a bit of fun but does anyone think this is at all possible??
1. Trade 6 + 61 to Fremantle for 18+56+ Weller
2. Trade 18+ Hickey+ Saunders to Essendon for 5
3. Trade 5 + 25 to Adelaide for 11+12
4. Trade 12 +43 +79 to Swans for 16+34+52
5. Trade 11 for Aish (Bris)
6. Trade next years 4th round pick for Barrett (GWS)
7. Acquire Tarrant (Nth) as a F/A on front ended contract to stopgap defence

In: 16, 34, 52, 56, Weller, Aish, Tarrant, Barrett
Out: 6, 25, 43, 61, 79, 2016 4th Rd pick, Hickey, Saunders

Draft:

34: Partington
52: Rice
56: Lovell
*Upgrade Sinclair with final pick

Total ins= Weller, Aish, Tarrant, Barrett, Collins, Partington, Rice, Lovell

Sounds more far fetched than me getting sex tonight but the only thing I can say for certain is Saunders isn't worth a thing.

I read somewhere they were looking for speed and thought seeing as he is quick and is doing well at VFL they may be interested as a set of steak knives?

That's one hell of a deconstruction followed by reconstruction there. Thanks for the effort.

I don't know much about most of the prospects named, however a huge NO to Aish and Tarrant in my opinion.

I'd be stopping at your step 2, leaving us with something like 5+25+56+Weller in, and 6+61+Hickey+Saunders out. (Is Mav's little bro' any good? Genuine question.)

I know nothing of Barrett, so happy to run with your judgement on step 6. Besides, for a fourth rounder we aren't risking much anyway, even if the bloke is another Jack Watts... though that would be dripping with embarrassing irony if he were.

But none of this can happen till you've run it all by citywest. And I think you'd have a better chance of getting citywest to sign off if you can somehow work Armo into the mix.

(Just kidding citywest. I don't have to agree with all of your ideas to appreciate them. :) )

The reason Aish wants to leave Brisbane is to return home to SA so I don't think there is a snowball's chance in hell of him coming here.
I don't rate Tarrant at all so I would avoid him and know nothing about Barrett so cannot comment.

The trade I would be pushing is Hickey + our second rounder to Essendon for Carlilse.
They may think Carlilse is worth more than that but I think it is a reasonable offer and they do need a ruck man.

Aish & Dunstan together in the midfield would be a great combo.

This mock draft is so far away from the relms of possibility it is not worth speculating on the third leg.

We should just offer our first round pick for Prestia.
Chances are our first rounder will be about pick 9 by the time you add in the Academy selections and Brisbane are given pick 2 as compo for losing Luenberger(spelling?).
Before someone says that the FA compo for Leun...?whatever won't be that high, the AFL will use it to appease Brisbane for refusing their Priority pick request.
Exactly the same as they did last year with Melbourne and Frawley.

Unless Luenberger is offered a long contract on big money I cant see them getting pick 2.

Ok well now we definitely know where we are in the draft.

We cant higher than pick 4 and we cant get lower than pick 6.

Will be pick 4,5 or 6.

Yes well Melbourne should not have got category 1 compo for Frawley but did because the AFL gave them a hand out instead of the requested priority pick.
I can see exactly the same thing happening again particularly as Brisbane are a bit of a golden child in the leagues eyes.
The formula for FA compo is so complex now that nobody really understands it fully so the AFL can do with what they want and have done so in the past.

He got a long contract on big money and that is how the pick is decided.

Both Brisbane and GWS have at least 4 academy players they want to pick up. They need extra draft picks more than the other clubss for the points. Brisbane have Aishe and Lewenberger to trade out, Collingwood claim to be into Aishe which I doubt I think he will head to SA. We should move on Treloar/

I think they would rather Trelour than Ashe. We aren't going to get Trelour unfortunately.

Are Fremantle supposed to be interested in a St.Kilda Player? If so is Weller a possibility?
