Schneider
Another good game from him. As Healy said in the commentary, he's had a terrific year. Another high possession game for a midfielder full of leadership, courage, clean disposal and clinical goal kicking. Can only hope he goes around next year.
Well done.
Well done.

Similar to Hickey/Longer scenario, we need to trust that they know what they're doing.

Re: Schneider
I've usually defended Schneids this year but surely he can't be far from the end after today's effort. Since the midway point of the season he's been on steep decline .
Re: Schneider
Think it's time to look elsewhere. He's had a decent year, getting worse as the year draws to a close and our youngsters tire.
Far too cute far too often. Don't see the point in playing him for the rest of the year, especially when roo gets back and we're good for experience.

Have no problem when it is expressed like that.Sobraz wrote:Think it's time to look elsewhere. He's had a decent year, getting worse as the year draws to a close and our youngsters tire.

Annoying when the same people open "Schneider is crap" threads and propagate the same "facts" week after week!

'Fantasy points' clearly dont measure DE. He is getting the ball and butchering it. A team killer in today's game. He isn't the player of yore.ace wrote:Seventh highest average AFL Fantasy points among St Kilda players this season 83.1plugger66 wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:DE: 57%

Great football brain, sadly body is now a movement too slow for this level. Love to keep him at club as asst coach because clearly he works well with the kids.

Those fantasy points are the dream team points which don't include quality of possession.
Supercoach are the only fantasy points worth looking at because they take into account how you get the ball and how you use the ball.
Anyway he has a handful of games at most in his career.

Re: Schneider
I think this year was all about being able to limit game time in the kids. Everything the club has done this year is about the future, especially resting the kids, I think Schneider is playing a real team game although it is frustrating at times
Re: Schneider
Couldn't Schneids impart his knowledge and experience at Sandy? The youngsters playing there have as much need for learning time as those in the firsts.
It's a shame ignorance isn't painful

Yeah, first half of the year raised a question about whether he'd go around again, now I think it's pretty obvious he goes.Old Mate wrote:Surely his last year
Will finish his career in our top 100 games played ever, just ahead of Ian Stewart, Travis Payze and Barry Lawrence. In the top 25 goals ahead of Carl Ditterich, Alan Morrow and Barry Hall, just behind Jason Heatley. Has been a very good contributor over a fairly long period, nothing to sneeze at there.

Re: Schneider
interesting that he is behind Heatley...
granted Jason was a forward, but he had 1.5 decent seasons

He only played 60 games in the end. Similar to Schneids though, he could have been a premiership star if everything had gone right.skeptic wrote:interesting that he is behind Heatley...

I seem to remember him being pretty one-dimensional at 189cm and 92kg. Arryn Siposs is a bit like Heaters, actually.

Not in ability unfortunately.
Re: Schneider
Not sure about that. I reckon if Sippa could have spent 80% of the game standing in the goal square and the other 20% smashing out quick leads and kicking straight goals, he could easily have kicked 3 goals a game. But unfortunately for him that's not the game any more.plugger66 wrote:Not in ability unfortunately.bergholt wrote:He only played 60 games in the end. That's pretty much guess work and if it was that easy back then there should have been a lot more good forwards than there was. Heatley had 2 very good seasons.
