Scoreboard Pressure. No
Pre game planning. Not one of our best
Coaching. Think we were beaten
Player selection. On reflection a couple playing sore

Re: Effort
Outcoached today IMO. Boak cut us up all day and didn't appear we made any move to curb his influence. Didn't appear to have a match up for Schultz or Westhoff either. All in all it was a bad day for the club. Time to regroup and finish off the year strong.

It's like that guy at the footy club that wins the Best Clubman Award - limited skills but tries really hard.
At least it is something to hang our hat on and hopefully build on.

Re: Effort
I think Fisher looked sore today
Maybe Delany would of been good today on Westhoff and or Schultz

Re: Effort
The guys tried hard, but as team, looked like headless chickens many times. The coach probably could have done better in team prep and selections...looked very unbalanced. One thing keeps sticking out to me, and that is, recruit more class in the midfield.

Re: Effort
played like a bottom 5 side which is what we are against good opposition will always be found out
still missing 3-4 guns imo - players that are A grade to seriously challenge
FA in 2 - 3 years maybe but in between its got to be seriously good drafting and as low as possible picks (easier to get your selection right when you make it at 5 than at 15.....yes, yes there are always smokeys......but then theres also not).
Losing older players over next 3 yrs - will be interesting cause the elite talent in our kids IMO doesnt match whats going out out...need more.
midfields second rate atm imo

I couldn't understand why Delaney didn't get picked this week either.Goose is king wrote:I think Fisher looked sore today

He gives us no run and has limited shills. Anyway we are a bottom 6 side for a reason and those reasons are lack of skills under pressure, some very ordinary players and lack of star players. We have improved greatly from last year but it is long process. The next 2 drafts are vital. We need to get some very good players from those drafts. Must get the later picks right.

Re: Effort
Yep, a very flat day all around. Whilst they tried hard, as a general description of what I mean, in looking at the entire game, I can't recall anything that made me say - gee wasn't that great play from the boys.
Our mids were shot to pieces all day and to let Boak have freedom "all day" seemed an obvious flaw in our coaching to me.
Fisher looked very proppy. Perhaps Delaney on Schultz may have been a better move.
We will need to learn/lift our game a lot next week, or it will be a very, very flat day! AFL is certainly a tough game - every week.

Probably just that McKenzie/Sinclair combination goal, for mine.Junction Oval wrote:Yep, a very flat day all around. Whilst they tried hard, as a general description of what I mean, in looking at the entire game, I can't recall anything that made me say - gee wasn't that great play from the boys.

Re: Effort
No run is a fair point. But is that his role? Does it really matter do you think? As long as Delaney keeps the main monster opposition forward reasonably quiet, then we still have plenty of others to provide the run out of defence.plugger66 wrote:He gives us no run and has limited shills.saintbob wrote:I couldn't understand why Delaney didn't get picked this week either.Goose is king wrote:I think Fisher looked sore today

I think that the second criticism is a bit unfair. I'm happy for everyone to know that Delaney works for us. No need for subtfuge on that.
