Can Longer and Hickey play in the same team?

The answer is no. Hickey should be traded either for a pick in the 20's or my preference, trade him to Freo for Lachie Weller. I would also be willing to give them our 3rd pick as well (42ish) to get the deal over the line. To sum up...

Not unless one becomes a proficient fwd and that can only be Hickey. Would keep them both for another year anyway. They look like they will both be excellent ruckmen.

They may but if they cant play in the same side then one is in the reserves every week. Im doubting that one will want to do that.

I'd like to see Holmes given a go, for more reasons than one. Is he perhaps our best tap ruckman? would be nice to win the tap outs. Would be a great story, and beat Collingwood for the first US ruckman to play the game. Its not as if were going to play finals, Give him a go.

Really? He can take a mark, is a good tap ruckman and for his size is good below his knees. IMO he is a better player than Longer.

Must keep both. No premiership team has only one decent ruck man on their list. look at Hawthorn they are rotating 3 guys at the moment. If Longer went down who rucks then. Look at Richmond and North if they lose their ruck man their season is done as the back ups are who? that good.
Patient with big guys they are no good generally until 27 +
