Paddy was great, Would have snagged a couple more goals if it was it for the Paul Roos flood tactics.

Re: PADDY!!!!
I was wrong.
I said he needed another preseason to be an AFL footballer.
Great game today.

Re: PADDY!!!!
First big step today, if he cam string a couple more games like that before the years out he will be well placed for next year.
I don't think he has the potential of Hogan but feel he and Bruce could become one of the most powerful combos in the comp.

Re: PADDY!!!!
Commentators said Hogan is a good mark but that is about all. If he doesn't mark the ball he doesn't follow up. Paddy can mark or bring ball to ground and then follows up. I reckon Paddy has more potential.Armoooo wrote:First big step today, if he cam string a couple more games like that before the years out he will be well placed for next year.

Matthews said pretty much the same about both.

Re: PADDY!!!!
Paddy reminds me a bit of the young Stewie Loewe when he started - except that he can kick. Both had plenty of puppy fat but great hands. I want to see Paddy hitting the track come 1 October to build up his tank and his body. Then, I think we will have a player we can get very exited about. Still learning the game but learning quickly with senior experience.

Definitely seemed like he took his first step onto the big stage today. Terrific in the conditions.

Plus look at how well he kicks the ball.plugger66 wrote:Great game today. Still needs a lot of work but 9 marks in those conditions was great. You cant fluke that.
Already looks highly unlikely to be a Spud Watts. (God I love watching the hack play!)

I only care about our players. Doesn't make me feel even slightly better that Watts isn't that good.

Re: PADDY!!!!
Great game today, one of the few highlights from an otherwise forgettable game.
It was great to win and win relatively easy, but it was ugly to watch, except of course for Paddy which was exciting.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.
Re: PADDY!!!!
Great game from the big man!
He still has next to no defensive side to his game and looks slower than treacle when the opposition have the ball.
But he is immovable in contests. Just stands his ground and brings it to ground if he doesn't mark it.
9 marks in the wet was something special though!

Re: PADDY!!!!
Really enjoyed watching Paddy today.
Was also quite satisfied with Goddard, he looks strong and athletic.
Probably needs a bigger tank, and needs to spend more time with Fisher, Gilbert & Dempster ...to learn the how our backline works.

Re: PADDY!!!!
He also got a lot more involved in the play laying some tackles and throwing his weight around.
His breakout game!

Re: PADDY!!!!
Don't recall Stewie being a bit porky ( sure you are not thinking if Plugger ( Stewie only played one under 19's ,one reserves, then in the seniors for the rest of his time. I remember how fit he looked compared to Pluggs.Trev from the Bush wrote:Paddy reminds me a bit of the young Stewie Loewe when he started - except that he can kick.
