Dees looked better than us that quarter. I'm not at the ground. Wonder if there is a wind advantage?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Demons @ MCG
Terrible skills by both teams. Not sure we put our domination of time fwd onto the scoreboard.
Surely kicking it high in the air to our fwds with a multitude of opposition defenders on them and repeat, isn't our game plan.. And it's bloody freezing here.

There is no way Longer is better than Hickey on form.
Hickey would at least be giving Gawn something to think about with his forward presence.

No wind. Seemed even in that qtr except we cant convert. Couple of lucky goals to Melbourne. Saints forward line flooded. Need to find alternatives to bombing it to a contestbigcarl wrote:Dees looked better than us that quarter. I'm not at the ground. Wonder if there is a wind advantage?

they dont need good picksGSG wrote:The Fireman wrote:

What is it with Saints supporters wanting a wooden spoon or low ladder ranking just to pick up some early first-round draft picks. You don’t see the Hawks, Cats, North, etc. operate like this! The Hawks would be the best example. When did they last have a wooden spoon or sat very low on the ladder???
And yes….. I do want them to win.

Dumb forward play, forwards are static and playing from behind. Hickey would have been a good selection, Steven waiting for the easy ball and should be going in harder.

Schneider should be subbed off at halftime and never play again. There's just no point in gifting him any more games. End the experiment of reinventing him as a midfielder.

I can see the Dees opening us up in the 3rd unless we get smarter with our ball use and going for marks.
An ugly game. Hope we win it. Hope we smash em. Gotta start getting wins at the G again.

Yeah, I agree with that. If two of Rooey getting dumped with out the ball were payed we would be up.

Love goddard, dunstan and roberton as youngsters
McCartin is presenting well but Infeel for brucey he is lost as mccartin has taken his spot
Coach v Coach in this second half.
We have the better players and should win but roos beat richo in that second quarter.
Upto you richo!

I reckon we could get rid of some supporters as well...membership is down but would rather a better quality of supporter to fill the gap.#gosaintas wrote:Schneider should be subbed off at halftime and never play again. Been smashed all year bar 2 or so games.Goose is king wrote:Longer needs to lift he's getting smashed.
The only real baffling aspect of Richos coaching is his constant Longer selection.
Just don't get it.
Unless it poised toward a trade. I'd be happy to get back what we paid for him.

Again we face a type of flood. We need to be able to work through this. I recall Freo last night starting to take their chances and rely on the team to support this and grind out a win. Not doing this says something to me about our lack of team confidence although we managed to do this last week in the last quarter. Start now or we will lose the game from slow forward movement and stagnation.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Go Sainters!!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Gee we have got some unskilful players which is not helping our cause. Be good if we could start hitting some targets.

Well that is how Roos coaches. He likes to win ugly. Played the last 5 years of his career as spare man in defenceAustinnn wrote:I can see the Dees opening us up in the 3rd unless we get smarter with our ball use and going for marks.
