Focus on the game, not your seething frustrations about posters or umpires. Or just jump off the internet and leave us alone.

Another turnover but immediately followed up by a turnover (Jack Steven). This happens too much. We gotta learn to kick to our players not the opposition. The message needs reinforcement over and over again. I know the club is on this but active players need to consider how this hurts the teamwork effect and belief. Its irresponsible.kalsaint wrote:Not true, winning the clearance according to AFL but we are looking at a big difference in contested footy though.Bunk_Moreland wrote:We are getting smashed at the clearances. We need mids mids and more mids in the draft or trade. Richmond are hardly a top four midfield but are just smashing us.
I don't understand how players cant use 2 feet nowadays. I was a hack at footy in my younger days but credit myself as being able to kick to players and kick goal by left and right foot (even drop kicks). Yes I'm old but kicking is an essential part of this game if we are to go one better than in 2009-10. I don't see evidence that anything has changed over the time then and since. It really worry's me that we will do another cycle without success due to the basic need.
I look at Hawthorn and shake my head and wonder why we cant emulate some of that more regularly? Nothing is more draining to the team to see the ball go forward to see it turned over and float over your head scoring 6 points on a regularly basis.
Effort means everything. but poor kicking drained believe and loses games.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Lucky goal as Richmond must have contacted the St. Kilda kicking disease and provide a poor turnover.

We are winning the free kick count. It's like a dream come true.
*Allegedly.

Why is Grimes able to get free and cut off the Saints forward moves. Reminds me of the BULLDOG who single handily stopped the Sints winning just weeks ago.

Re: St Kilda v Richmond Maddie's Match Game Thread
Our game is about set a zone and forcing turnovers high up in the ground with intense pressure. It's easy for us to score
when you win the ball back in your forward 50 when everyone is out of position.
When a team is composed/skilled and get through our zone. Then we're exposed.
Similarly when our pressure don't work, we're having to use our composure and skills. At this
stage of the re-build, we're not good enough.
Richmond has been s*** for more than 10 years. Look at how many
top 10 picks they have in their team.
So we're ok and will improve as our list and experience improve.

Piss poor disposal. Don't seem to have the run to open the space.

Still liking Jake Kings comments. Hes on the money. Richo's team have been out coached today from what I ve heard or alternatively the effort or discipline to execute has been missing.

Tigers have had just as any turnovers and their disposal efficiency is worse according to the statskalsaint wrote:Lucky goal as Richmond must have contacted the St. Kilda kicking disease and provide a poor turnover.

Inside 50s almost even. So Saints have been very competitive. Only kicking accuracy has let us down.

I still reckon Nick needs to play further up the ground and force Paddy and Bruce to create forward movement. Nick delivers well to players better than he does to goal unless on the run. Its better than we have a tructure that engages our new key forwards now.

Too little too late. Nice to see McCartin get one.
