Re: IN: Hugh Goddard
No Joke, there have been examples of other young players that have had very lean weeks that haven't been dumped straight away, unlike Ross. I was merely hihglighting that I think he was stiff on those grounds. If we are going to drop players after one bad game, sure, but I'd like a bit of consistency.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Is this some sort of joke? Newnes is a HBF'er and Dunstan while not being as dominant as last year due to a limited pre season is one of the best spread players in the team.Saint wagga wrote:Great to see Goddard debut. Dont care how he goes, it dosn't really matter, it's the beginning for him. He needs games!! Ross is very stiff to go out. One poor game after a 25+ posi game the week before. He's certainly being made to earn it. Can think of a couple of weeks where newnes, Dunstan have stunk it up and they aren't treated as harshly at match committee...Great to see Eli back, and hopefully he has regained more confidence after that horrific arm fracture. He is a classy player, clean disposal and good descion maker, especilally going inside 50 and really want him to get a good run at it. Good lukc to the youngsters, and hope Ross keeps his chin up, goes back to Sandi and dominates.
Ross 7 possessions and 1 clearance in three quarters of football, Dunstans 20 possessions and 5 tackles.
Ross deserved to be dropped especially with the likes of Eli and Murdoch putting up their hands.

I'm pretty sure Hugh would already be aware that his uncle & cousin have been convicted of crimes involving trafficking heroin. That's not slander, it happened. The Linton Street Flash wrote:dragit wrote:I've heard Goddard's all over the country are breaking out of jail to see his debut.

I'm sure the whole family will be super-excited about Hugh's debut.
Sorry if my joke gave you an anger-hard-on… maintain the rage though.

Re: IN: Hugh Goddard
So according to you all players should all be treated exactly the same way, regardless of which position they play, the depth in that position, the current development of the player and what the coach wants the player to do?Saint wagga wrote:No Joke, there have been examples of other young players that have had very lean weeks that haven't been dumped straight away, unlike Ross. You are garbage - Enough said
Re: IN: Hugh Goddard
Well throughout the year Lee's form in the vfl has been better than Goddard's and he has not played yet. So no, not all players get treated equally for one reason or another.Bunk_Moreland wrote:So according to you all players should all be treated exactly the same way, regardless of which position they play, the depth in that position, the current development of the player and what the coach wants the player to do?Saint wagga wrote:No Joke, there have been examples of other young players that have had very lean weeks that haven't been dumped straight away, unlike Ross. so you are quite happy to throw up in a young boys face a comment like that
a guy that is going to wear the colours that you supposedly support and before his first game you would like to remind him that he has family in jail
sorry that is a pretty grubby thing to do, love to see what you say to the opposition
maybe get back under your rock

I've got high hopes for this kid and have been telling Essendon supporters he'll be the better of the Goddards.
And I agree, ordinary comment by dragit. I'm sure he regrets making it by now

Footballers should not be reading here, and even if they do they will hear far worse when they are running around.
Hugh is now an afl footballer, which comes with celebrity like public interest.
Hope Hugh has a ripping debut and a long career, I'm not judging him on mistakes his family has made... I'm sure his family who can't get to the game would love to be there.
The "joke" is a pretty old one usually reserved for when Collingwood play in a grand final.
I'll get back under my rock when you have taken your head out of your arse, let me know.
Cheers.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Tres Sensible!
Fairly benign comment really, let's not go over the top.
It was a joke and it, I must confess, gave me a giggle.
Play on.
