Was at the game in the AFL Members section and also went back on the Tuesday night for the "conclusion" (bloody drug boy Hirdy
)
Had a mate with me who had brought his "bit on the side" along with him. Was quite concerning for him, and funny for me, when it became apparent the cameras were taking a greater interest in those in the crowd once the lights went out.
Not sure if he got sprung

This game is one of the reasons I so despise EFC, the pressure that was bought on to allow them to CHANGE their team and get Hird in for the 20 minutes or whatever it was was unbelievable.
It just simply had to be the same teams turn up, not make changes

It should have been a "continuation from where we left off".
But a spineless AFL capitulated to Essendon and let them change their team.
I refused to go the Tues night farce and still believe we should have refused to play under those ridiculous and unfair terms.
Yet another case of the AFL having a different rule book for different teams.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

We also had the option to change the side and weren't we well down anyway? Hird made little difference in the end. If it happened now we would lose anyway. And I believe we made 3 changes anyway. They made 4.

I also went to both games, was livid about Tird playing, remember booing his every touch! God I wish we'd beaten them.
