2016 FIXture Wish List !!

[Eastern]

Clubs have less than 3 weeks to get their 'Wish Lists' to the AFL for 2016. I am planning to submit my ideas (and the ideas of others) to Matt Finnis prior to that. Please post your wishes below. I have a few;

3 of the 1st 5 rounds as Home Games, including Rd 1 (remembering Rd 5 is a Home Game in NZ)

One of the other 2 to be a Friday Night Home Game v One of the Big Victorian Clubs

3 x Friday Night Games, with 2 of these to be Home Games

Less Sunday afternoon/twilight games

More Saturday Night Games (my preference)

Final Round to be a Home Game

Agreed. This Sunday twilight slot that we seem to have a mortgage on is an absolute graveyard shift. It's also a pain in the backside for young families, especially those that don't live in the inner suburbs.

Pain in the arse getting back to Geelong after 9:00pm with work the next day.

The Social Club must also take a hit with outer Melbourne and Rural supporters fleeing for Southern Cross Station as soon as the siren sounds.

Don't mind taking our turn, but the number of these games we are getting is ridiculous.

Would love to see Maddie's Match become a big deal. A big Friday night game at Etihad against the Tigers next year.

I'd like to see us return to more Saturday night games. It's the blockbuster timeslot for the second rate clubs (in the AFL's eyes anyway), like us, the Dogs, Nth Melb etc. Friday nights will be kept for Collingwood, Hawks, Geelong regardless of their onfield record.

And one Saturday afternoon game at the MCG in October.

Its not about you 66 - its whats good for the club and Sunday twilight is not a good crowd drawing time/day. A competition is meant to be an even playing field hence draw should be fair and even but we all know Eddie has screwed the AFL for collingwoods benefit and now we don't play in a fair competition. Not only are we struggling to survive the competition will also fall away with this mentality.

Saturday day games don't rate on TV. You do realise that. TV is important for our brand and yes I did the fixture based on what I want. If it was about the club I would say about 7 Friday night games but that wont happen.

I take it you are another who just wants so bag me but have no opinion. There is probably 20 of you but when are the 20 going to be smart enough to realise I couldn't give a stuff what you say. if I did I wouldn't be here or I would occasionally dob the posts into the mods. Im still here and have never reported a post because to me its all a good laugh. Now if it was people that I could see had a brain having a go at me I may get upset. Havent come across any of those yet.

I don't think Sunday twilight is a booming spot either. People with young kids don't like getting them home late on sundays on a school night.
