As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Roo injured?
I'm guessing he will play through any niggle just to get on the pitch next week. Even if it means giving him a light week then whack him at FF and Bruce CHF.

Not if he hurt his calf. That would be completely unprofessional by the club.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

If he really hurt his calf then he shouldn't, whatever the match.

StkFC on Facebook Q&As : We'll have to wait and see. Roo's calf is tight but he will be assessed this week.

Riewoldt spoke to reporters as he arrived for scans late on Monday.
"Obviously (I) want to play every week, but this is a really significant week for obvious reasons," Riewoldt said.
"It is still only early, I'll have the scan and talk to the doctors and go from there basically.
"I think I got it pretty early. I just felt it tighten up a little bit and then came off."
... more to come

Rooey's Running Ability
The commentators i listened to on the radio were mightily impressed at the number of 50m and 100m sprints Rooey was churning out as a senior player on the weekend. Great for the young players to witness that up close.
Hope the big fella is ok for next week knowing how much it'll mean to him.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
