Paddys inclusion is a worry for me, hope none of the big three forwards are out.

It's common sense. Why would you drop anyone after that win, especially with Billings not an option. No one else deserves a spot - or perhaps why punish someone by dropping them after such a solid win??

Think McCartins inclusion as an emergency is a reward for his current performance, be very surprised if he played. I'm keen to see Eli get another good go at it, but if it's going to be wet, perhaps we are best suited to keeping an in and under player, Dunstan as the sub, so same team as last week...always interesting to see what the coaches decide.

ST KILDA has named an unchanged line-up ahead of its round 15 clash against GWS this Sunday, adding Tom Hickey, Eli Templeton and Paddy McCartin to its extended bench.

Any of these three players could come into the 22, however the team will not be finalised until Friday afternoon at 5pm.

In what will be Sam Gilbert’s 150th game, Richardson has rewarded the players that trounced Essendon by 110 points in round 14.

“No change is a reflection of everyone playing their role,” Richardson told SAINTS.com.au.

“We have young blokes that are living up to expectations and leaders that are playing really strong footy. We are pretty healthy as well.

“With such a significant result, the reality is that we are reluctant to make changes because people have earned the right to keep their spots.”

However no change does not mean that Sandringham players have not been banging the selection door down in recent weeks, according to Richardson.

"Having said all of that, there is some really strong form in the VFL," he said.

"McCartin, Goddard, McKenzie and Templeton have all been strong, as has Holmes - even though he can't play senior footy because he is a rookie.

"But the more stable we are, the more likely we are to be good at the team aspects of footy like team offence, team defence and anything that requires synergy and connectivity... it's a good position to be in."

Holmes getting talked up without mention of Hickey, hope we don't end up losing the big fella for lack of opportunity.

I still think there is a way we can make a Longer / Hickey combination work, especially if the sub rule gets scrapped as some are expecting (perhaps wishful thinking?).

Winnable game. Their two best experienced backs - Davis and Patfull - both out.

I can only see templeton as a real possibility out of those and let's hope a defender doesn't pull up sore before the game.

This is a really winnable game.

In the two games after Mumford's injury they have been SMASHED in hitouts and centre clearances.

Round 12
Hitouts
23-89
Clearances
30-58 (4-20 in the centre)

Round 14
Hitouts
37-55
Clearances 37-44 (6-12)

This is a massive game for Longer. He needs to back up lasts weeks game and not only dominate the hitouts, but get some touches around the ground. He's coming up against one of the most inexperienced rucking duo's in recent times.(Downie has played 2 games, Lobb 5)
With the outs to their backline, If Longer can get on top in the ruck and give Armo, Steven and Co first use of the ball, our forwards could cause some serious damage again.

Good pick up.

Centre clearances have been a real issue for us, we rank a distant last in the comp. And that's despite Billy Longer sitting 5th in overall hitouts.

Same team available for this week is a bonus - hope they can reproduce the impressive cohesion of last week.
It's great to see the young guys string games together - enjoyed Webster, Ross, Newness a lot last week.
Also big guys Longer & Membrey have another opportunity to further cement some good form. Great stuff when these two get busy.

Is this game 3 in a row for Gilbe?
Anyway wishing Gilbert all the best on his 150th.

Sinclair seems to have a knack for this. I'd like to see him get more time in the middle. Also little Lonie. Both are going to be too good to be exclusively small forwards

Still a lot of work to do in the midfield clearance area, and I would rather see our mids getting clean first touch of the ball. It's as much about who plays in there as it is about how it is coached, and Richo has improved a lot of key areas to our benefit, but the clearance work is an area that needs work- once we improve that, then we will be looking pretty darn good.

Most of our better play has been in our forward half so if players like Dunstan, Newnes, Schneider, Weller, Sinclair, Lonie and of course Longer can match or exceed the output oj Steven, Armo and Joey, against elite opposition we'll be fine.
