Lonie is as hard as a cats head, don't think he would put on a show like that.

You could watch it 1000 times, but the telecast didn't show the contact clearly.saynta wrote:Yep and I have watched the incident about 6 or 7 times on the replay.Munga wrote:This is what I saw. Lonie has inherited quite a few of milnes tricks.

Had a very clear view and there was nothing it apart from maybe an academy award.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
While you are right that the contact seemed to only be at about the shoulder, rather than directly to the head; it was pretty hard contact and it seemed to whip Lonie's head from side-to-side. So, it looked to me like it was a "whiplash" and I think he probably would have been fairly stunned by it. Although obviously he got over it relatively quickly, I think the immediate affect would have been enough to put him down.plugger66 wrote:Had a very clear view and there was nothing it apart from maybe an academy award.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
What it does show is Lonie clearly indicating to a Saints official what happened and where he was hit. I think it is outragious for you and your dad to claim he took a dive or was acting.dragit wrote:You could watch it 1000 times, but the telecast didn't show the contact clearly.saynta wrote:Yep and I have watched the incident about 6 or 7 times on the replay.Munga wrote:This is what I saw. Slurs on Lonie in this thread are pretty ordinary.
And so he should have

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-06/f ... t-round-14Mark Baguley, Essendon, has been charged with charged with striking Jack Lonie, St Kilda, during the second quarter of the Round 14 match between Essendon and St Kilda, played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday July 5, 2015.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. The offence was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable bad record. An early plea can reduce the penalty to a one-match sanction.

Give it a rest plugger . You are embarrassing yourself now. You were simply wrong about Lonie as was your offspring (or your alternative nickname), so admit it and stop attacking posters with ludicrous accusations.plugger66 wrote:saynta wrote:Yes, the AFL are right into penalizing the audience one weekplugger66 wrote:Had a very clear view and there was nothing it apart from maybe an academy award.

I certainly aren't embarrassing myself but you are stinger. And I didn't attack you apart from saying the humour wasn't funny. Surely you aren't that soft. Yep im wrong about what Lonie copped. Who cares. Im right about who really are though.
Don't get offspring thing but Im happy with that.

From what I saw, it looked like a hit to the shoulder... That's all I could go by.
I thought Lonie was trying to reverse the shot on goal, I'm sure he'll be devastated that someone on the internet accused him of diving... Hope he pulls through.
Outrageous indeed... Who gives a s***.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
Thought he got hit on the shoulder and he tried to get the free kick reversed.
Seems like the tribunal had a different view so the free kick SHOULD have been reversed.
The 50 people talk about should not have been given as he ducked away from the ball to try and get a fifty.
Lonie is not soft, and plays above his weight.
Dempsey smashed him in the final quarter, but he jumped straight to his feet and was in the next contest.
Tough little bastard.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
as I mentioned Lonie looked winded to me.Armoooo wrote:Happened right in front of me.
Lonie was jogging to the centre and Bagualey gave him a strong hip and shoulder which was clearly audible. Lonie appeared to remonstrate and then dropped like a sack of potatoes after getting a backhand slap to the shoulder. I reckon it was the hit in the guts that put him down. Should have been a free for mine, miles off play and against a player who wasn't bracing for contact.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
I think Lonie has shown enough to suggest he isn't faking the hits he's getting. He is tough to even play the size he is. We met him and I thought he wouldn't play for a few years because he was so slight and short. The Hawks put him down about 5 times hard and he just bounced back up on his feet and kept yapping sat them. He is tougher than most, he's like a little street urchin from the old days.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
Anyway this thread reminds me of the Big mart hysteria over Jamie Cripps "dogging it". Poor form to question his integrity in his first year based on speculation.

Hahahahahahahaha....you're funny
You really have a problem. How about giving me the name of the person I had a go at or I will take it as a lie? Do you know anything about footy? Because all we see is constantly having a go at me not that I care. I just feel sorry for you that your knowledge of footy is so limited that you never talk about it. Think of the children.
Sad individual. Pathetic.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
Like I said earlier, from what I saw it looked like he was hit in the shoulder and as Essendon were taking a shot at goal I thought he was trying to reverse the free... Obviously I got it wrong, but It's not an attack on his integrity.gringo wrote:Anyway this thread reminds me of the Big mart hysteria over Jamie Cripps "dogging it". He's clearly a tough cookie so let's not make this something that it isn't.
